Once the battery in an EV fails, it costs too much to bother replacing it - what's your opinion? 13 Sep 2018 (Ask HJ)

Private plates and the wonderful DVLA 13 Jun 2018 (Forum)
I haven't had a cheque book for lord knows how many years, I would have to order a bankers draft and a postal order would cost me £10 on top of the £80 I have to pay for this 1950's experience. What is going on? I never knew Brexit would take us back 6-7 decades. -
Used tall car for tall driver 28 Apr 2018 (Forum)
I'm 6'6" tall unfortunately which has lead to problems as even large SUV/Crossovers don't seem that much bigger inside than smaller models (the car grows but not the space for the driver). We didn't initially fancy an MPV but I sat in a Ford S-Max yesterday and it did seem more roomy and comfortable and the visibility was a lot better than the Cross/SUVs we tried (Mazda CX-5, Qashqai, VW Touareg, Ford Kuga etc). Is this the best of the MPV bunch for comfort and space? -

Skoda Octavia Estate - Possible first time new car buyer (Octy?) 16 Mar 2018 (Forum)
I’d really appreciate some advice, it’s the first time I’ve been looking at a car costing more than 6K, am I missing something or are some of these PCP deals (‘deposit contributions’) actually good value – barring any hideous %s where I assume they would normally claw back the initial ‘deal’ reduction. (reason for petrol: 10-12K per year, typically 2x20mi per day, and my current diesel regens every 200 miles, usually when I'm in view of home or work!) -
Volvo V40 - Alternatives to a Volvo V40 18 Nov 2017 (Forum)
My son is in his late 20's and coming out of his company's car scheme. He's asled my advice on what to get. He's been spoilt by large diesel estates (Mondeo, Passat and Avensis) so although he doesn't need a large car he doesn't want to step back to his supermini days even though its usually just him in the car. -

Help choosing the right car please 27 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Hi, Im looking for some help choosing a new car. I currently drive 61 plate Honda Civic 1.4 Type S. I actually really like my car. It feels good to drive, looks sporty without verging on being a boy racer type and I love the modern style dashboard and interior. Downsides are the 1.4 is just lacking any oomph especially going up hills and it's a 3dr. -
