No doubt the guarantee will require that the servicing has been carried out at an approved dealer. At present only for customers in France and Spain but they promise to widen the customer base until the end of Feb. -

I am sure that amongst our forum members there are some people who have visited Seville in Spain. SWMBO and myself are going there next week and would appreciate some advice. Especially on how to get from the airport to the city centre and also some 'must see' sights. We are there for 3 days before moving on to Toledo then Madrid. -

Spanish Speed limits 4 Mar 2011 (Forum)
A quick note for discussion, the Spanish government have announced that from March 7th the national speed limit on motorways will be reduced from 120 kph to 110 kph, this action is to reduce fuel consumption due to the current problems in Libya (where Spain gets most of its fuel). What concerns me more is that they also intend increasing the percentage of biofuel added to the standard diesel, I wonder what effect that will have on modern engines? -
Anti-SUV hysteria subsiding 4 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Further to the thread regarding the Hyundai ix35 delivery delays, the July figures for car sales in Spain are out today. Overall the market is down 24% for the month (end of sc***page plus 2% VAT increase), but sales of medium SUVs are up 12.4% and large ones 7.7%. Could it be that the anti-SUV campaign a couple of years ago lead manufacturers to reduce manufacturing targets, and they've been caught on the hop now that the market is returning to normal? -

Photo Licence and Car hire 2 Jan 2010 (Forum)
As part of the proceedure I was required to return my paper driving licence. I am now slightly concerned as I usually hire a car when visiting Spain, and am reading about companies requesting a paper couterpart as proof of a 'clean' licence. Anyone clear this up or suggest what to do? -

Attn rogerb - Spanish used cars 29 Apr 2002 (Forum)
I recall you were keen to learn about prices of used cars in Spain. I discovered a bookmark on my computer for http://www.motorpoint.com/ which is a Spanish used car site similar to our Autotrader. If you click on CompraCoches then Coche Usado you can then search (Busqueda) for the makes and models that might be of interest to you. -
N/A - DOC insurance (or lack of) 15 Oct 2020 (Forum)
She is insured in Spain, but I don't know if anything her Spanish car insurance policy says about DOC or equivalent will mean anything here? She is taking the car to help out with shopping etc while I work from home and we both care for our new baby, but the situation is stressing me out a bit as neither she nor my wife seem to care much about the risk! -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 02 2.0 (auto) diesel misfiring 16 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Ford had remapped the injectors and loaded new software more times than I care to think about, so its probably not that. I averaged 46 mpg over the trip to Spain, running at 80 ish all the way so there cannot be much wrong with the car, but it would be nice to figure out what the problem is once and for all Any ideas? -

Is and injected 1983 Pinto engine in a Ford Scorpio provided with hydraulic tappets? My hostess's example here in the mountains of S. Spain sounds tappety at 197k kilometres. Does it need its clearances adjusted, or have the hydraulic tappets worn out? Fast response wd be much appreciated. Lud -
Citroen Cash Backs 16 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Reminds me when we used to stick a stripe on the side, a sunroof on the top, call it "Special Edition", ramp the price up by a grand and offer the mugs £1000 minimum p/x on literally anything as long as it didn't need feeding or taking for walkies! Roger in Spain -
Mercedes V class 8 Aug 2003 (Forum)
It's only done 26K and has had water pump failure, self leveling suspension failure, driveshaft failure sunroof problems, eng/manag switch fault, pad wear sensor fault neccessitating their replacement. Fed up of typing now..... Still, what do you expect when they're built in Spain? Probably built by someone who'd had a gallon of Sangria... -
Exporting from UK 22 May 2003 (Forum)
I am currently working in Spain and will be here for about another year. I remember that there used to be a scheme (set up initially for military people posted abroad) which enabled you to reclaim the VAT on a UK registered car which was taken abroad for over 6 months. -

Jaguar Classics - E Type 1970 - Classic car aircon 15 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I wish to have the original aircon system re-commissioned, and since I live in Spain, local professionals do not have much experience of this work. Could anyone please detail a procedure to enable us to regas the system using a currently available refridgerant? As far as I could tell, the compressor - Tecumseh HG 500 - worked correctly prior to dismantling of the system as part of a comprehensive mechanical overhaul of the car. -
