  This may seem like a strange post, but I'm curious as to why , under heavy braking (ie emergency stop scenario) the brakes on my 98 Fiesta (solid disc front,drum rear,no ABS) DON'T lock up! Every other car I've had (all sizes, apart from ABS equipped ones obviously) lock their brakes in the dry as well as the wet if you brake hard enough (Not that I do this all the time, you just get a feel for when its going to happen!)

  Ref the question ' Pressing matter'. The comment about left foot braking on automatics. Will the automonus city braking prevent a runaway incident where the accelerator is pressed instead of the brake? I have a Kia Niro with this automonous braking feature, and because the parking/emergency brake is foot operated I do not consider left foot braking an option.

  A little problem with my Micra... When the headlights are off and i press the brake pedal, the brake lights work but the side lights also come on. When the headlights are on and i press the brake pedal, the brake lights work but are very very dim, probably illegally so. I'm sure i can sort the problem myself, its just directing the hammer to the right part... :) Iain

  hi recently i have noticed that my brake lights are on even when i an not braking ie stationary with hand brake on i have recently had the brake servo replaced is this problem linked to that? Also any ideas of whether it will be a big job to sort out or relatively straight forward will also be a big help thanks in advance

  Just bought a 2nd hand Megane. When braking gently to a halt I can hear and feel a pulsing on the brake pedal just for the last second or so until car stops. No problem with braking function and it doesn't happen on hard braking, just a bit irritating, anyone got any ideas?!
