  Hi all, I bought a mk5 golf 1.9tdi a few months back and now I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure whether it can run on 100% biodiesel. I have a local company who are offering biodiesel pre-treated and delivered to my door for £1 per litre. My golf is the 105bhp 8v version. So does anyone know whether I can do this?

• BMW 5 Series E60 - High Battery Drain on Start UP 10 Jul 2012 (Forum)
  Get a "High Battery Drain" on start upon the morning and have lost Bluetooth ability in the car. After running for a couple of minutes the sign goes away and nothing appears in the Fault Finder. Just spent £200 having the car "diagnosed" at a garage to be told they can't find anything wrong. They changed the battery for a new one but the following morning the High Battery Drain re-appeared.

  Budget of around £3-4k so looking for something around 6 or 7 years old that will be solid, reliable and cheap to run/maintain. I know nothing about buying autos (that often get less favourable reviews than their manual equivalent) so any advice on what models to look out for, and also what to check when testing would be greatly appreciated.

• fiesta mk4 zetec - mk4 fiesta heater 4 May 2012 (Forum)
  Ihave felt the water pipes coming up and out the otherside of the heater control valve and they are all hot too. But still have no hot air , also the temp gauge is running on the bottom of normal( don't know if this is anything to do with this problem!) And the water level is fine in the header tank. Any advise gratley appreciate..

  hi ive recently passed my test and bought a fiat punto i knew the power stearing colum was broke before i bought it i payed to get this fixed buy my friend who is a macanic (he sold me the car) it was fine for about a week then the power stearing failed. i dont know anything about cars i know that if you leave the city button on it can cause it to run out so to speak but ive never used it or left it on. will i hve to replace the stearing colum was wondering if anyone could shed some light thanxs :)

  hi my peugeot 206 passenger seat will not recline it will run back and forth on runners and go forward to let people in the back seat but anyone who sits in front has to be laid right back as the handle is jammed i have looked at th other seats and cant see anything different i have tried forcing it with pliers taking seat literally apart but still stuck anyone else had this prob if so how can i resolve it.

  Due to a mishap and without comprehensive insurance I have rebuilt my Kawasaki ZX12R Model A1. It's now running beautifully BUT the battery is not charging.  It holds a charge and will jump start.  A lot of the parts I bought were 2nd hand, but I could not get a generator for this model so fitted a generator, alternator and alternator cover form a later model - Model B.

  I don't know where to go from here. I'd appreciate any ideas especially as the main agent failed. Once started it runs perfectly and fuel consumption is the same as ever

  I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand cheap runabout within the next couple of months, max price of £2000.  I'll mostly be using it at the weekends to get out of the city, or for a quick run down to the supermarket.  I've previously owned a Ford Puma, a Fiat Punto and a Ford Sierra, and I'm really not fussed by the looks of the car, as long as it's reliable and not a shed and will last me for a few years without costing an arm and a leg.

• Renault Grand Scenic - Renault Grand Scenic - TDC sensor 19 Jan 2012 (Forum)
  My other half is having starting problems with her 2005 Renault Grand Scenic - sometimes takes 2-3 minutes to start, but once it's started it runs ok. I've been told that the problem could be the TDC sensor & it's worth taking it out & cleaning it.....problem is, I can't find it.! Does anyone know where the TDC sensor is on this vehicle & what it looks like?

  Before I head down to the scrappy for a replacement, is there anything else I should be investigating? At the moment removing lead on 1 or 2 once running makes no difference. It will stall if I remove 3 or 4. Any help much appreciated.

   Despite this the temp gauge did return to middle of "normal" range. Got home and turned engine off but fan carried on running for at least 5 minutes.   Help please!  Any idea what it could be?  ...and more to the point how much (ball park figure) it could cost to repair at local Ford Dealer.   Thanks

  It seemed even short journeys equated to £5 fares & I started to think what the net profit was likely to be in a year. I realise they have running costs (servicing, repairs, mot, licences, fuel, tax, insurance etc) but wondered what % overheads were as a % of total costs? Anyone have any idea of typical London cab earnings/outgoings? MM

  I have a 2010 Volvo C70 which has been treated with GardX. I do not garage this car and do not run it during the worst of the winter weather, (i.e snow) as I also have a Suzuki Jimny. During the worst of the winter weather should I consider protecting the Volvo with a car cover as can be purchased on popular auction sites?

  I would like isofix anchors, a five door hatch if possible, though i would consider three, low insurance and tax, and cheap to run. I have in mind a Honda Civic circa 2002 on account of its good reliability record, but there may be other cars that you would recommend. if so I would be grateful for your thoughts.

  Does the clear out last longer than the method usually used by main dealers? I want to keep my diesel car running, but dread the expense of clear outs or replacement of particulate filters!   Any informed comments much appreciated. Thanks
