• Ford Mondeo 2L Diesel - Difficulty in engaging reverse gear when cold 4 Nov 2019 (Forum)
  Difficult to engage reverse or 1st gear when starting. Once running everything runs smoothly. Garage cant find anything wrong but reckon its a common mondeo problem as the clutch plate may be sticking on input shaft. They reckon only way to check is to take gearbox out.

  I have had the above message and the following bulbs have stopped working but only on the driver side, on the passenger side all the bulbs work. brake light daytime running light on front dipped headlight daytime running light on rear.   I did change one of the bulbs but no surprise the new one didn't work either. Is there a solution for someone like me, who's not technical?

  Hi My Peugeot Partner was struggling to start on first start up, turned over no problem but took a few tries til it caught, then starts up first time for the rest of the day and runs well. Changed all 4 glow plugs, starts instantly and runs well, but when i drive loses power and black smoke, iv learnt black smoke is too much fuel, what have we done wrong?

  Thinking long term, is it bad for the ac system to run it on maximum cold and max fan speed (manual controls) or is it a good thing? I know it's bad NOT to run the AC system as seals can dry out, but just curious about the effects of doing the opposite.

  CAR WAS RUNNING ON 3 SO I PLUGGED IN CAME UP INJECTOR 3 CIRCUIT HIGH RESITANCE/SO FIXED IT WITH A NEW INJECTOR AS I DID A TEST ON THE RESISTANCE ON THE INJECTOR AND IT WASNT RIGHT SO CHANGED IT ,AND NOW IT RUNS FANTASTIC BUT I CANT CLEAR THE FAULT CODES ,AS IT SAYS THEY ARE PERMINANT ,ANYONE HAD THIS FAULT   ALSO SIMILAR SCENARO ON MY DADS VECTRA AT THE MIN

  just a curious question i would like to take a wee survey my car is 10 years old and it still runs ok but some people think oh its ten years old what do you expect ok how many people in thios forum have a ten year old car that goes ok blimey my moyorcycle is 33 years old and runs ok i will be interesting to see how many people on here drive older cars

  we have a 2.5tdi rebuilt engine but miss firing on number 4 cylinder , if we start the car run for a while then stop disconnect glow plug rail and put a direct feed on to no4 glow plug motor runs perfectly untill you remove power to glow plug , not injector as swaped around and problem is only on no 4 any theories as to why?

  I have a Ford Zodiac with a Granada 2.8 engine fitted and after the car has been running for a while I get back pressure tthrough the rad. cap. I have not fitted an expansion tank to the cooling system, is this my problem??  I have today used Steel seal in case of head gasket failure but after the car was running for a while it just blew the water and £80 of SS out the rad.
• Laguna II - Laguna II Heater Fan Fault 31 Jan 2012 (Forum)
  I have a Laguna II estate (01 reg). It has the digital control unit for the fan. The fan fails to run at any speed. I've had the motor out & run on bench ok. The resistor bank & digital control units have both been changed, with no joy. Is there a relay or fuse that I should be looking for.

  my friend has got a micra 1992 1,.0 injection  when trying to start it,it tries to fire but wont actuallly start there is fuel and the fuel pump is working and the is a spark im thinkin there might be a problem with starting it when its cold as im told when it does run it runs fine any help would be gratfeful

  If a common pushrod engine from the mid 60?s (Ford Zephyr for example) were to be completely rebuilt as original and then run using synthetic oil and modern fuel (with lead replacement additives if required), would it fare much better now, mile for mile than it would have when it was new? Would there be any noticeable improvement in running and performance?

  hi car was running on what seamed like 3 cylinders, managed to get it home then it cutout AA man diagnosed coil pack, which had cracked and melted. Replaced coil pack car ran fine, engine needs service soon light went out, week later problem back coil pack has a large crack in it and the car is running on not many cylinders help please

  My vehicle is the 110 BHP model 406 HDI Engine cuts out after a few minutes running, will start again no trouble but again stops after another few minutes. Screen shows Anti Pollution Fault and engine management warning light comes on. Revs are limited and vehicle runs on for a few seconds when turned off.

  Hi I have a toyota camry that runs on LPG. I understand that it runs hotter than usual. Would an oil cooler make any difference? Can you recommend any websites that let me know how I can buy one with advice on these devices. I understand that they are more suited to cars that tow as the gear box oil gets hotter in these cases!

  Hi can anyone help? saxo 1.5d misfires/runs rough bluish smoke. It does run better the more it is reved. The only obvious signs are air bubbles in the fuel lines inlet and return. It seems worse the hotter it gets. misses now and again on idle. new fuel filter fitted, the old one had rust in it?

  My engine warning light has been on for a couple of days, although the car seems to be running fine. I read about the diagnostic test can you can run by starting the engine while holding down the mileometer - this resulted in code Er 0541. I've googled this but can't turn anything up - could anyone tell me what the code means?
