  • Between Branded and supermarket fuel 10 Jul 2008 (Forum)
I think everybody knows that supermarkets like Morrison's, Tesco etc fuel is cheaper than branded name like Shell and BP. Somehow I have the feeling based on unverified experience that supermarket fuel is less efficient in terms of mile per gallon it covers.

  • hyundai i40 - supermarket fuel VS branded long term test review 17 Mar 2016 (Forum)
this could probably be the most extensive test on the difference of supermarket fuel Vs branded. I wanted to see if I was paying over the auds using bp ultimate or if I could get the same results for 10p cheaper. I filled up with supermarket fuel, let it go to half a tank, filled up again and re-set my ecu.

  • Supermarket petrol - any difference? 23 Dec 2005 (Forum)
After reading the papers and seeing interviews on the TV about the fire at the Buncefield fuel depot, it was said that tankers from Tesco, BP and Total were all lined up for filling along side each other to fill up from the same fuel line. This suggests to me that the petrol quality from supermarkets is the same as those from major suppliers, as they seem to get the fuel from exactly the same source.

  • Supermarket vs big name fuel. 27 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I can't find a search option on this forum, which is a bit sad. Anyway, there's a good discussion going on at the moneysavingexpert forums about supermarket vs big name fuel. My personal belief is that big name fuel gives me slightly more mpg. Years ago I had a crappy 1.1 Escort which would pink at the slighest excuse as I attempted to wring every last one of its 60BHP out it.
