Fiat Punto "Axle & Suspension" 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Just gave myself a nasty shock by looking up Puntos from 1999 on Reliability Index. Reliability is excellent at 28 but 66.67% of claims have arisen from "Axle & Suspension". If at the front, this could be expensive. Does anyone have any experience of this? Mine is the 1.2 ELX Speedgear CVT 5-door, first reg. 29-01-01, current mileage 36,400. -

Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 15-12-2018 Part 2 20 Dec 2018 (Forum)
Re: Faults Economies I agree that (IMHO) the WD Reliability Index doesn't take into account many factors, including the extent that each owner looks after the car (i.e. whether it's home maintained, at a rubbish backstreet indie or a decent one, similarly with the main dealers [whose quality can vary just as much]) and, just as importantly, drives it - someone who treats it with sympathy will get more life out of it without trouble than those who don't. -

Mazda 3 Advantages:- 1) Larger car segment; Hence better safety and motorway driving charaterisitcs 2) Mazda more reliable than Nissan as per warrant direct stats. -
Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - High mileage honda accord 22 May 2008 (Forum)
Based on the reliability index Honda ACCORD 2003 to 2008 model seems to be the most reliable car in this bracket. However, my budget could only buy those with high mileage from 80,000 upwards. Due to reliability, I think I prefer ex fleet to privately used from supermarket dealers. -
Toyota Corolla and Verso diesel; nissan almera - corolla diesel 2.0 D-4D vs. almera diesel 2.2dci 6 May 2010 (Forum)
I am currently considering either the Corolla hatchback 2.0 D-4D or the Nissan Almera 2.2 Dci. The main consideration with the car would be reliability. Please could you provide your opinions on which car could be more reliable? Also does anyone know whether either of these cars have a Dual Mass Flywheel? I know that the almera has a cam chain while the corolla has a cam belt.I don't mind having to change a cam belt if in all other respects the Corolla would be more reliable. -

colt/c1/argo/107 - mitsubishi colt vs toyota aygo/c1/107 11 Apr 2016 (Forum)
As above, need to buy a new smaller car and not to sure on the colt vs the argo faimly, does any one have any experiences with these? From what i can tell the argo family from the car reliablity index has electrical and cooling and heating issues, but i have also read the clutch needs a bigger one and the brake discs go more frequently, these are easy fixes for the home mechanic. The colt on the other hand looks like the electrical, fuel system and suspension and axle seems to be quite high on repairs? -

brake pad material 20 May 2016 (Forum)
If Concrete's thread about models' reliability refers to a certain 'Index of Reliability', then I went and had a quick (refresh) look. Some of it IS a bit odd though - I mean, I wouldn't have thought there were vast numbers of Chevy Kalos and Tacumas running about - maybe their owners don't make claims because they hardly ever use their cars? -
MPV - for 'a grand'? 14 Jan 2010 (Forum)
(Nissan Note would hit the mark...but far out of price range....) Scenics...read everywhere how 'bad' they are for reliability/fire risk etc. But still like them. Nissan Tino...1.8s and high tax so seem costly...also reliability issues. Picassa...reliability issues, and probably too expensive? Merivas? Zafiras? Mazda Premacy? -
