  hi, Got a strange problem with changing gear, it feels fine with the engine running when the car is not moving (change is notchy and changes easily) but with the car moving 2nd and 4th gear (nearest to the back) feel strange, the notchyness is gone and just feels wierd, althougth there is no cruching of gears.

  Problem solved it was the coil packs, car now runs fine,. Just got to fix the dashboard light the one that lights up the 0 to 50 mph secment of the speedo, wouldn't mind so much is it was the one that lights up the dashboard from 70 mph onwards. As per usual the handbook makes no reference to the type of bulbs used any ideas?

  The Question is when to sell them. With Christmas so close, I'm not sure if they are likely to sell better on the run up to Christmas as presents or after Christmas when some folk may be looking to spend Christmas money? The alloys aren't new and couldn't be mistaken for new as they are a bit marked, so I'm guessing the latter scenario might make more sense.

  I was always told not to use cruise control for the first 1000 or 2000 miles because its bad for the engine to run at the same speed as the engine needs to vary its revs. Does anyone else follow this same principle? I would like to know if you can overuse cruise control; i have only done 4500 miles so far and i've started using it a lot of the time.

  I assumed that the coil was history, so i replaced it but still nothing! Anyone have any ideas? cause i've run out. I'm sure someone else has had this problem because it sounds vaguely familiar

  Having changed the ht leads and plugs on my focus i have still got a really bad and unnerving rough idle the car runs 'lumpy' (sounds like a vw camper) and loss of power on any sort of incline,although once the revs pass 2k it seems to clear but the power issue (hesitation) is still there.. Any ideas bantam1 s

  Just bought the above for junior. Basic in the extreme.... no battery (kick start) so lights and electrics run from alternator. Bought Peugeot indicator kit: instructions laughably brief. Doing fairly well, but three wires to connect to the relay: two purple, one green. No indication on relay as to what goes where!

  Sometime on first starting up there is a grumbling noise which sounds like the starter motor but is not ,when it finally starts I end up with a trail of whitish smoke which finally burns off (Fuel??) The car runs great ,does not use oil and once started no problems. When putting the foot down or the need for more power is required then the "engine"warning light comes on but goes off after a while.Any help would be appreciated.

  Each day the car will start no problem. Will run for about 10 minutes then when travelling will just cut out. Will not start for a few minutes then be okay. This can then happen at any time when driving. Can travel at any speed and the car will just switch off.

  I cant help thinking thought that the cause of the original HG failure might have been down to a caput water pump as when I have run the engine it seems to have hot and cold spots in the pipework and the temp guage fails to move. Maybe it's just the thermostat? Any ideas welcome as ever!! Thanks again, Stuart

  My partners brother works as an assistant manager at Fords so I do feel that The overall parts and service for the focus will be alot cheaper in the long run but We can't help loving VW Golfs for thier reliability and the fact that they are much better looking!   The guy selling it has told us he has ran the car on gas oil. My question is what is gas oil? Is it just another name for diesel as we have always run petrol cars so dont know technical names for diesel.

  Hi everyone, the problem i have with my '02 vectra is that my windscreen washer motor runs but no water comes out !! Ihave checked the nozzles are free and theres water in the reservoir! I disconnected the pipe at the nozzles but still no water so i assume that the motor is all gunged up. what i need to know is, how do i remove the washer motor without removing the front bumper ?

Does anyone know what he is looking at? I've said that at worst theu will take his licence of him for 12 months and he'll probably get a fine......?

  hi, ive got a prob with the battery charge warning lamp on my fiesta ,it stays ON when i switch the ignition off and remove the key, the alternator is functioning with the engine running and the battery warning light goes out, ive looked at the wiring diag and as far as i can make out there is an in line diode in the warning bulb connection that comes off the alternator multi plug could it be that that has failed causing a reverse voltage?

  Quite difficult to get a lever in between anyway because of the crossmember and ABS modulator securing bracket in the way. Have tried hitting a crowbar at it whilst someone pulls on the wheel, but still no luck. I'm running out of ideas. Hope someone can help! -------------- Mike Farrow

  The system on the car at present splits into 2 pipes after the downpipe and has 2 cats, 2 centre boxes yet only a single back box. My query is A, Can I De-cat this car legally? and B, can i run a bigger bore (same diametre as downpipe) instead of using 2 pipes? C, Anyone know where in Scotland (preferbly Edinburgh) I can get a new system made to order?
