• Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - AWD -Chance to buy a neighbour's car 28 Aug 2007 (Forum)
  Neighbour is buying a new Mazda CX7 and has for sale his 4 yr old Mazda 6 Sport4 - AWD 2.3 automatic estate car with 20K mls. They are almost as rare as hen's teeth - does any BR have one / had experience of in the past. If you have the TS2 model this must be similar apart from the 4WD - what are your experiences.

  I'm looking for advice on which smallish cars (1.2 to 1.4 litre) for under a grand, around 10 years old or more years old offer a good bit of legroom for someone who is 6ft 5 and very long in the legs. The only car I know for sure which I drove years ago was a Vauxhall Corsa although it might have been just that model of Corsa as other tall people I've spoke to have had a different experiences with the Corsa.

I love the idea of little old lady who is selling her old car prohibiting the Arfur Daley character from driving it off, after he has given her the cash & collected the keys. What world do these people live in?

  This lag was quite off-putting at first but would probably improve with experience, but I would still probably choose a manual box over it, not forgetting the reliability concerns after a couple of years. Reading the forums, it seems to be a common gripe. Overall, it seems a fine car, and made our 10 year old Civic and 12 year old Focus distinctly old hat!

  We want something a bit more special which is why we had the XC40 on a short list of one before Covid. Perhaps the new Octavia will tick the boxes, but it looks just like the old Octavia in the pictures. VAG stylists, the possibly the most boring in the world. But when the car is cheap like the Fabia I am prepared to overlook it.

  Hi I've got a 6yr old 35K Mile 1.4 Civic and I've noticed that it takes 5 turns of the engine before she starts up, at all times. Now normally I wouldn?t care but as my neighbour has the same model car which is a year newer and it starts on the 2nd turn of the engine...??

  Hi, I have an old (H-plate) Sunny which has been going great for around 10000 miles since I bought it for a few hundred quid last year but recently I've become a bit concerned about the clutch. * It only bites with about an inch or two travel left on the pedal * It seems to be pretty much impossible to stall this car!!!

  Hello,  I have recently had nearly a thousand pounds of work done on my old renault megane. Seems crazy on such an old car, but i tested many new cars and could not get to grips with them. Apparently people hate driving the older meganes due to heavy clutches etc, but i guess i must have got to used to driving it, anyway.

  Currently looking at; more than10years old 1.3 endura engined Fiesta's (with lowish milage) and aware of peoples mixed feeling on them.   ford focus' up to 10 years old (with a bit more milage) corsas   Anyway open to opinion and suggestion and sorry if this is too general a noob question for the forum.

  We were told that the vibration was a known issue and Avondale applied to Honda UK for some goodwill. Everything was subsequently replaced free of charge, which is pretty good on a car that’s almost seven years old. SP, Cheltenham If only all car manufacturers behaved as well as Honda and Toyota.

  Yes my car also has a failing input bearing car is just over five years old (late 2004 executive model) with 75k miles. Honda says it’s not a common problem, car out of warranty, high mileage and refuse to comment on this forum.

  05 plat renault clio 182 sport spoiler pack (front lip and larger rear spoiler) 1 owner 22K miles fullRSH silver - £9750 giving me £14500 for my old car, paying off £10300 finance, leaves me with £5600 to borrow. or 55 plate clio 182 sport with cup spoiler pack (see above) + (suspension pack, grey wheels + lower suspension) 1 owner 10K miles FullRSH silver - £10300 giving me £13750 for my old car paying off finance leaves me £6850 to borrow for the wifes car. she does around 7K miles p.a. guess she dosent need suspension kit, so cheaper option better?
• Why are some drivers so aggressive 1 Jun 2005 (Forum)
  A few minutes ago I was in my car, and had just reached the turning to the side road where I live. The side road is sharply curved, and usually lined with cars, so there is only room for one car at a time. Hence it's best to indicate, come to a stop, check the way is clear, then turn if it is, since reversing would be near impossible.
• Making an accident worse 16 Dec 2004 (Forum)
  Result - insurance company is logging it as 2 different claims! Ouch! Also reminds me of the time I saw a minor bump where an old gentleman had failed to do a hill start properly and rolled into the car behind him, bumper to bumper. Both drivers got out, checked that there was no damage. Car behind then reversed back a bit to give the old gentleman chance to do his hil start.

  I'm a criminal ! Today i used a car park on he outskirts of the New Forest and paid for a parking ticket as usual. I returned to my car a little later but there was 2 hours left on the ticket so i walked over to a old couple who had just entered the car park and handed over my ticket.

  We stuck with BLMC cars through the 1970s, usually buying about two years old, never new, sometimes privately but usually from independent traders. Because I did basic maintenance the cars rarely gave trouble serious enough for any warranty claim, and I have never done that, because I am a fairly careful buyer and I accepted that cars a few years old cannot reasonably be expected to be faultless – especially back then :-).

  The dealer, who are Merc woned, have not told me the car is ancient.  It is not being sold as a pre-reg and will be 15 plated.  We have a good discounted price, but buying a car which is 2013 spec and old, where I presume it has sat for over 2 years, is not appealing.
