  my 04 x-trail makes a humming noise from the front o/s only when steering left everything looks ok under neath but i suspect it may be the drive shaft support bearing making the noise has anyone had a similar problem or can offer any advice - cheers

  Reckon there is room for manoeuvre on price? They like Toyota's as they have a Yaris which they are keeping as a 2nd car. Although dull to drive etc, I understand Auris is reliable. Cheers

  I am on the verge off doing a deal on a A8 3.0Tdi, car is perfect drives amazing but I am a bit scared off the potential bills. Anybody ever run one or got any advice? Reallife MPG would b good aswell? The car is 2005 full dealer history, Thanx in advance.

  When I bought my 3 year old Jazz, last year, I was pleased to see that I was getting consistently 53 mpg, according to the onboard computer. Subsequently this has steadily decreased and is now only 39 mpg. Neither my pattern of driving, or the fuel I burn (mainly Shell standard unleaded) have changed. So what could account for the deterioration in economy?

  Planning some long trips with friends. Not decided yet in which cars we'd travel but it will be interesting to know how long we can drive at a stretch [by rotating drivers of course]. Between petrol & diesel, which is more suitable for longer runs [not fuel wise]?

  Hi, i am due to get a company car soon with the choice of any vauxhall! i drive 120 mile a day on the motorway and was wondering what would the approx mpg be at 70mph with the following diesel engines, 1.3 ecoflex, 1.7cdti and 2.0 cdti? would the smaller engine struggle and use more fuel?

  My daughter has asked me to remove the dual controls from her car as she is no longer working as a driving instructor. Before I say "yes" and get her to bring the car, does anyone know how easy or difficult the job is, or if any special tools are likely to be needed? Many thanks

  So will be looking at the Honda FR-V, but is there anything else I should look at. Needless to say I may be replacing the Outback [sigh] so would like something automatic, good to drive, and quick.

  Just having a flick through tonight's telly and I notice Knightrider is back on. New pilot tonight on SciFi at 8pm. Val Kilmer taking over in the driving seat from The Hoff who does make a cameo so it seems. Not sure what the car will be or whether it will be as camp as the 80s version "Brace yourself Michael!" It clashes with the new Wheeler Dealers series but is repeated on Thursday evening, filling the hole left by the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

  Both cars have pretty high mileage (134K for TD and 120K petrol). The price is the same for both. What do you think which one will be more reliable to drive and cost me less in repairs? Thanks in advance

  hi all, does anyone know how to remove the blower on these? it squeaks when driving! glove box comes out easily enough but i have no idea where to go from there, as the blower housing is right in front of me but theres no screws, nuts, bolts etc? any help would be greatly appreciated

  My friend's daughter is out taking her first driving lesson. He has just come off the phone to his insurance company after being quoted £2500 (really !) to add her as a named driver for their "P" reg Fiesta 1.25. The car's main driver is her mum, with her dad named, both in their 50's with good records, obviously that company doesn't want to insure youngsters.

  Hi, Recently purchased an Audi A4 avant automatic 2.0l. There seems to be a problem with the boot lock. It won't shut properly and I seem to have to drive round with it open and can't lock it at night. Any common problems that I should know of and how would I go about rectifying the problem?   I have a 306 Hdi which when the engine is cold has recently started to idle from 900rpm down to 700rpm and feels like it may stall. It drives absolutley fine when its running with no loss of power so im wondering could it be an electrical problem with a sensor playing up? cheers

  First off, sometimes when i first start up and try to cear rain off the rear window the wiper will not work but it will after a few minutes of driving, any ideas? Secondly, the time between wipes on my intermitent wipe on the front wipers seems to have increased alot for some reason. Any ideas on that? Thanks

  I have just bought a VW Polo 1.4 SE and it keeps cutting out when it's cold. If the revs are low and I'm driving it cuts out and the phrase 'in o2' appears in the read out on the speedo? There isn't a manual so I have no point of reference. Any ideas?

  hello,I have a corolla 1998 hatchback,just today I noticed that the rear wiper just would not stop,I don't want the motor to burn out and have stopped driving the car until I find out what the problem is,would be grateful if anybody could tell me what is causing the problem.thank you
