172 - SLK roof update 12 Sep 2021 (Forum)
The SLK world forum is full of instances of this problem. I have informed HJ of the site and re contacted Mercedes customer care. Their last stance was the car is almost six years old....time I first got in touch...so tough. I asked if Mercedes cars were expected to come apart at 6 years old. Mercedes say the only fix is a new roof, presumably that would be of the new material -

Toyota Corolla - Help please, comfortable shocks recommendations 29 Jan 2015 (Forum)
I have a back injury, so it is paramount to me that I have a soft comfortable ride in my old car, a Toyota corolla. I have replaced the original leaking shocks, with KYB excel shocks, which I was told are the original equipment, but sadly the ride is now very hard and choppy, my lovely old comfortable car is ruined and the soft ride has gone. -

VAG/ Citroen/ Peugeot - Best diesel Estate/Hatchback for approx £1500. 24 Aug 2010 (Forum)
I have seen a Xantia with £150,000 miles for this price. Is that a good model? What is a better diesel engine on a 10 year old Citroen/Mondeo or Peugeot car? I plan to drive 15-20K miles in a reliable, economical car with boot space. Thanks for your replies. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 08 1.6 petrol service 23 Mar 2009 (Forum)
hi s.i.l. has just purchased a 1.6 ford focus but not yet picked up. it is just over 12 months old (8/3/08 first reg) and done just over 9000 miles. i told her it is due a sevice, she contacted the seller (wll known car supermarket) who told her that it will need a service, but they would not do it and that she will have to have it done at a ford or vat reg garage. so to keep the warranty it needs doing. as the car is now over 12 months old, does anyone know if or what is the grace period on the service intervals thanks -
Service history dilemma 5 Aug 2008 (Forum)
thoughts/opinions please? I'm not looking to sell the car anytime soon and will probably keep it until it falls apart, so not particularly fussed about history as I know it will have been serviced and looked after but would an indy garage pick up any issues that only a Pug dealer would know about and is this going to be such an issue on a 7 yr old car? -

Thinking of ending love affair (with Boxster) 20 Nov 2007 (Forum)
The clutch & slave cylinder are going to need doing in the next 10 days or so. I'm wondering how many more big bills I'm going to have. I love the image of the car & the way it drives etc but I'm wondering (semi-seriously this time) whether I should quickly part-ex it for an Audi TT 225 (convertible if poss)/ A3 3.2 / Nissan 350z (import) at about 4-5 years old with 40k-60k miles on - question is, will these be more in line with my needs for paranoia-free reliable motoring, or is any performance car at 5 years old likely to throw up expensive issues? -
A sad day - Primera eGT RIP 5 Jan 2007 (Forum)
It needed new brake pipes and a little welding to pass its MOT. I know you shouldn't get sentimental about old cars but I really did love that Primera and its engine was still like new even after 120k. Just feeling that a good car should still be around. -

BMW pre-1997 E39 Instruments 16 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Quarry BMW who sold me it said the mileage could be adjusted to match mine. BMW say it can't. Assuming BMW matched the 'new' one to my car and I installed it. What would be the mileage result of putting the old one back if I decided to sell the car. Would the mileage I'd accumulated show correctly on the old one? BMW didn't know the answer to this.
