• 1972 Ford Capri 1600 GT - Improving exhaust note 4 Oct 2017 (Forum)
  The stock exhaust currently is quiet and 'boring'.  Would like to hear the crossflow Kent  engine while driving, hopefully lower pitches, not harsh. The rest of the exhaust is stock and no engine mods have been done. Has anyone any experience fitting a Cherry Bomb or a Profusion ProBomb to a Capri or Cortina please?

  My car suddenly lost power when I was driving. The rev needle was rising high when I reached 20mph! No warning light was shown! I only have 33.500 on the clock. I've had the car from new! Would a warning light come on if the gearbox was failing?

   I've never thought about this before, the ones I was thinking about getting were Dunlop Street Response 2, they are classed as summer tyres.  Do you think they are ok for city driving all year round?  The car wouldn't be used in bad winter conditons.  Thanks.

  A fairly simple question but probably lots of different answers..lol   which is better ( around 06/07 ) 118D ( the 143BHP version) or the 120D  we like a bit of oomph hence the 143BHP but what about the 120D which I think is 177BHP Main concerns is driving and reliability once vs the other   cheers

  Nothing major, drives in a straight line until you dip the clutch to change gear, and you feel the car pull slightly to the left, but rectifys itself when your back in gear. Steering wheel slightly of centre, so could it be the tracking?

  My employers have a Ford mini-bus I drive occasionally. The mileometer failed several years ago, and only the trip mileage is displayed. However, it always gets through the MOT without comment from the testing garage, no mileage being entered on the certificate.

  I have just bought the above car with 117k the problem is that on tick over the engine/exhaust note alternates between sounding as it has an exhaust leak and having a blocked exhaust also when driving it seems the turbo works then it doesn't work, any thoughts please? thanks Ed.

   Just read one which said gear changes were 'notchy'.  What does that mean in practice ? Some cars are referred to as 'fun' to drive.  If you have to ask what that means does it mean you won't get it ? I occasionally wonder if a glossary of what is meant by certain terms would be helpful for a simpleton like me.

  I was wondering if anyone's got any advice, We are thinking of buying a 57reg ford s max and when we took it for a test drive I noticed that there's a gap between the dashboard and the small window at the front next to the windscreen. It's not like that on the other side and not sure if it's anything to worry about. Any help would be much appreciated

  Hello I just bought a CRV 2014 petrol 2.0 automatic. I do all in town London driving and I'm getting around 25MPG, often less. I have the eco option on, and I very rarely go over 30MPH. Is this normal? how can imporve on this.?

  I am going to test drive a VW Golf Plus SE 1400 TSI  2008 petrol with 61,000 miles on the clock - full service history and 2 owners. I have a vague memory of a mechanic once advising to avoid TSI engines potentially expensive repairs.

  This engine is very under-powered for an otherwise perfect car, un-responsive in Auto. I have to engage S and use the paddle change to drive up the steep hills were I live. Can this engine be tuned to give more power in Auto?

  Hi there   I went into my car today (Ford Focus 65 plate 1.0 125 Ecoboost) - when I was reversing out of my driveway, there was a smell of petrol.  There hasn't been any smell of petrol when driving after this or at any other time.  Does this smell of petrol when reversing mean there is something wrong with the car?

  Would it be worth buying a used part? Its done 80000 miles and I guess is worth around 2500-3000. I drive around 15k a year do you think its worth ditching or sticking?

    Obviously some cars designed for higher octane fuel will go better, my question is not about acceleration/speed but mpg in normal driving. Has anyone measured the difference (if any) in ordinary cars?

  Hello there, im new to this forum & would be greatful for any help. My Corsa starts fine but after a little drive (which was longer, but now not the case)  it cuts out & have to sit for 5-10 mins. Engine management light comes on when it cuts out, but no sign of it when it re-starts. Any ideas please.

  Hi, as a newby to this car, I would apreciate some info on the back lights namely, how come there are LHD and RHD back lights surely they are the same ie. sidelights/indicators/brake/fog/reverse. how are they different on european cars but  also can they be adapted to fit our RH drive cars. I get it for headlights facing opposite way. Thanks.
• Ford Ka - Headlight removal 9 Aug 2015 (Forum)
  Having looked at the unit, the bolt behind the grill looks as though it might be removable  using a flexible drive on a socket and the bolt under the wheel arch with a ratchet ring spanner.  Am I missing something here?  Perhaps the unit is too big to remove through the opening even when the screws are undone.

  The garage has cleared it several times, but it re-appears after a short time. Apparently the vehicle drives well & the oil,water& brake fluid levels are O.K. Any ideas anybody please
