• Dangerous HGV Drivers 20 Oct 2016 (Forum)
  I try and be as understanding as possible with HGV drivers due to their busy schedule and deadlines on the U.K.'s chaotic road network but I have noticed a more dangerous habit developing that I find unacceptable. This is on particularly large islands (I noticed it on the A50 & A38 island at Burnaston a couple of times recently among others) where when you are approaching their entry to the island at very close proximity they just pull out knowing that if you do not slow to a stop you will end up in the side of their trailer.

  I have been looking at a car on autotrader.co.uk that is being sold by a dealer in Peterborough. It is a 2012 s line Audi A4. It looks like a lovely car but I had a look at the MOT history on carcheck.co.uk and found that it has basically barely been driven at all between its last 2 MOTs (almost 94k miles in June 2016 and only 20 miles less in July 2015).

  Hello everyone, can anyone help me with the problem i am having with my ford mondeo mk3 2002 model, Actually my mondeo mk3's clutch is too smooth at some time and also while revving up above 3000rpm the clutch is getting even smoother, but the gear shift is smooth too, Can anyone suggest me what would be the problem with the smooth clutch and also wanna get the solution for that problem.

  Motor manufacturers just cannot seem to design a maintenance free system and often end up designing in disastrous weaknesses, e.g. VAG. Old pushrod ohv designs were supposedly superseded in the 70's because of the  introduction of high rpm short stroke designs. As newer turbocharged engines are designed to run at significantly lower rpm than those 1970s pioneers, I wonder if pushrod ohv could make a comeback.

  Hi, I am trying to help a mate who,s meganne shows electrical fault after heavy rain. I can not get the upper fusebox out of the housing, it is off each side but seems clipped at the back which mounts to the side of inner wing. It seems impossible, can anybody point me in the right direction otherwise I can only think of cutting the top to remove fuse carrier and siliconing it back.

  Caravan towing is borderline dangerous and an over zealous manouver can result in instant disaster as illustrated here Are they all that dangerous or do some makes have better/more sophisticated suspension rather than the basic 1960's design?   Dashcams are remarkably useful devices, I must get myself one....

  Hi.I just bought a nissan march ,made in japan 2010.The only problem i seem to have is with the idling stop system.....let s say i start the car and the buutton is off.while i drive out of the blue goes on....whithout me to put it on.i have been today at my mechanic and we checked everything and it doesn t have any errors the "head" of the car...they said to us maybe it needs update....can you give me any advice....thank you very much

  Purchased (S/H 77000 miles) in September, in Worcester. During drive to Scotland, warning lights on dash. Stopped to investigate. Nothing seen. Started car, no warning lights. Since then, warning lights (spurious) several times.

  hi all have a prob with my corsa easytronic gear box the clutch fuild had turned a darl colour and have wot looks like melted rubber bits in it suspect the seals in the acuator are u/s does that sound rite ?? bangs into first gear gets into second gear then crunches and drops into neutral no better when using the tronic side of the gear boxes feels like the clutch anit clearin enough is there a cheap answer to this prob. thanks for any advise you can give

  I've seen a repair kit on ebay or you can but a new complete mechanism but its quite expensive ( not real new ford of course! ). It F/S drivers. Anyone know of a step by step of fitting these? Does the glass need to come out? can you just replace the regulator in situ? Any instructions/you tube for this ( the ones I found were not great )   Cheers guys.

  I was thinking of putting a nice new set of Avon ZZ5's on my A4. Having looked on P/h and reviews elsewhere they seem to be well thought of and good value for money (An important consideration these days with the costs of everything rising !!) Evo seem to rate them highly on an S4!!!
• vw polo - vw polo bnv engine failure due to tandam pump 23 Apr 2013 (Forum)
  At 50000 miles a puff of white smoke came out of the exhaust the car lost power and stopped. we were advised by vw that the engine was u/s and we had another fitted elsewhere. Vw UK have washed their hands and don,t want to know. At the very lease i expect a vw recall to service the tamdam pump and stop diesel leaking into the engine and then the engine destruction.

    Has to be a estate and since I'm going to be doing 2k per month of motorway miles it needs fuel efficient and reliable I have looked at the long term car hire and it's about 450-800 UKP per month plus the excess Anyone offer any other options and what type of car should I be looking at, If I decide to buy a cheap S/H car (bear in mind that it needs to be reliable ;-))

  When the car has been garaged and the overnight air temperature falls to below freezing, the engine fires up OK. Thoughts as to possible cause(s):- a sticky relay ?  and ECU defect ?  A short or problem with the immobilser electrics ?

  I am buying an 02 Yaris 1.0 S from a (Mitsubishi) dealer. The dealer agreed to put the car through the MOT before hand over. Any MOT faults will be rectified by the dealer. Last week,the dealer phoned me. The car failed the MOT due to an ABS warning light coming on during the test.

  Whilst waiting my car was a citroen and I've just seen a citroen c4 automatic 1.6 2007 with 120000 but it's diesel and has amazing fuel rates, it's around £3200. Any experience with the c4's? Thanks :)

  I have a pricing dilemma on my hands. I need to sell my fathers Feb 2003/03 Passat S diesel 105BHP after his recent sudden death. Normally pricing such a car would be easy, but this car is still showroom fresh with only 32K miles on it an absolutely full SH, cambelt and water pump done a couple of years ago, full MOT new battery a month ago and in generally sublime condition to an almost atomic level, 10 months tax and a near full tank of diesel.
