SGB 62 was imported by John Colborne-Baber, Britain's first VW importer and dealer, in Woking Surrey, as an MPV (not a camper) for family holidays. The car disappeared for a while, then, in 1992, SGP 62 was rediscovered in the West Country after 30 years in storage.

Interestingly, 17% of diesel car drivers said the environment was an important factor in choosing their car.   For those who love their American cars, £6,500 was enough for a red 01X Chrysler PT Cruiser in good condition with 20k miles. A place on the waiting list for an imported 300C with your choice of colour from an import specialist which with the bidding still going had reached the late twenties with the seller wanting £31,000.   Three 1970s Datsun Z Cars in Historics 23rd November Sale 29 Oct 2019 (News)
    The 1974 260Z is a rust-free LHD automatic imported from the USA. It has the standard 2.6 litre 165HP six-cylinder engine, original VIN tags a clean, cream interior and sits on what look like Wolfrace wheels. It is estimated at £11,000 to £14,000.

  Chris Routledge, Coys managing director, has spent the last few days hunting through the containers. He said, ‘Something of this scale and with the importance and rarity of the cars they are related to is unprecedented.  ‘We are looking at least £1 million pounds worth of spares, probably more and I have never seen anything like it.’ He added, ‘It’s an Aladdin’s cave which is going to excite people all over the world.

  Although the wholesale cost of oil stayed roughly the same throughout the month, averaging at $49.89, it recorded a low of $46.93 early on and a high of $53.54 nearing the end of the month. The price drop was also spurred on by the currently stable sterling, which is important because fuel is traded in dollars.

  It’s had the same owner for the past seven years and has been well looked after. Les Edgar, TVR chairman, says it is important to reward the people who have been enthusiastic ambassadors for the brand. Edgar says, ‘The club is a wonderfully active and loyal community of people who simply love the cars, so it seems fitting that [its members] should be offered a reduced deposit and a promise of some of the early production units.

  Restored Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet to be auctioned at CarFest South 23 Jun 2015 (News)
  A restored 1977 Volkswagen 1303 Karmann Cabriolet is just one of the lots going under the hammer at Chris Evans’ CarFest over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The Beetle, which was originally imported into the UK from Georgia, USA, in 1977, is estimated to sell for between £13,000 and £15,000 at CCA’s CarFest South auction on Saturday, 29 August. As well as the Volkswagen, there’s also a 1998 BMW Z3M Roadster for sale, with an estimate of between £12,000 and £15,000.
