    (The original Type 2 engine compartment accoomodated a vertical spare wheel, so left a lot of unusable space over the engine.) SGB 62 was imported by John Colborne-Baber, Britain's first VW importer and dealer, in Woking Surrey, as an MPV (not a camper) for family holidays. The car disappeared for a while, then, in 1992, SGP 62 was rediscovered in the West Country after 30 years in storage.

      The 1974 260Z is a rust-free LHD automatic imported from the USA. It has the standard 2.6 litre 165HP six-cylinder engine, original VIN tags a clean, cream interior and sits on what look like Wolfrace wheels. It is estimated at £11,000 to £14,000.

    Although the wholesale cost of oil stayed roughly the same throughout the month, averaging at $49.89, it recorded a low of $46.93 early on and a high of $53.54 nearing the end of the month. The price drop was also spurred on by the currently stable sterling, which is important because fuel is traded in dollars.

  • Restored Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet to be auctioned at CarFest South 23 Jun 2015 (News)
    A restored 1977 Volkswagen 1303 Karmann Cabriolet is just one of the lots going under the hammer at Chris Evans’ CarFest over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The Beetle, which was originally imported into the UK from Georgia, USA, in 1977, is estimated to sell for between £13,000 and £15,000 at CCA’s CarFest South auction on Saturday, 29 August. As well as the Volkswagen, there’s also a 1998 BMW Z3M Roadster for sale, with an estimate of between £12,000 and £15,000.
