Driving test failure. 25 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Seventeen year old female empoyee went for her driving test on Tuesday and failed the eyesight test, worrying that she didn't realise her vision needed correction or that her driving instructor hadn't noticed on a mock test. -
Driving abroad for the first time 6 Jun 2007 (Forum)
......Going back to my home country for a holiday: France! It's the first time I am "going abroad" since I passed my driving test a little over 2 years ago. Passed when I was 22. Anyhow, I am a little worried! Will i get used to driving on the other side of the road very quickly? How does driving over there compare to driving over here? -
Mimsing or driving economically? 28 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Some drivers seem to be getting very ambivalent these days. On the one hand they complain about other drivers driving slowly, but on the other hand they're obsessed with driving economically themselves. Make your minds up what you want! -
All - EVs front or rear wheel drive? 25 Oct 2020 (Forum)
I am not in the market for an EV so have not given the question of F or R drive any thought until I was reading a report on the VW ID3 which is rear drive. My question is are all these EVs rear driven and what could the implications on the road be as to driving in snow? Also how does servo braking differ from your conventional car? -

Jailed for "wanton and furious driving" 15 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I see someone who killed a pedestrian by colliding into them on their cycle has been jailed for 7 months under the 19th century offence of "wanton and furious driving causing bodily harm". Full story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/8197430.stm But he's also been banned from driving for 12 months... (so it is driving related) Not heard of this old offence before. -

It is insured in Spain, which also includes some UK driving. I am concerned about driving from the ferry to London without Tax and MOT, and can't get the tax until I have the MOT. -
Private Sales - COVID-19 6 Jul 2020 (Forum)
We are looking to sell a used car privately in Scotland and I'm wondering what people are doing with regard to advertising and test drives. We initially said no test drives in the ads, but we would demonstrate the car running and could video a drive but we've had little interest even at a decent price. Clearly we cant accompany someone on a test drive with either party driving and keep social distancing in place. -

The best of driving, the worst of driving 26 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Pnawn da Just sat in the marvelous Pete's Eats in Llanberis at the end of a fantastic break in Anglesey (now with free Wifi - hooray!) Have been bemused by the driving here - some of the most courteous around the country lanes and everyone smiles and waves and it's all very nice. However, on the single carriageway roads, everyone drives about three inches off your bumper, regardless of how fast you're going (and I'm usually within 2-3mph of the speed limit). -
Driving Pleasure 17 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Just wondering, with the increased petrol costs traffic jams etc, - does anyone still just get in the car for the sake of it and go for a drive somewhere for me the greatest way to "chill" is to take my car out somewhere some good tunes on the CD player and drive off for a couple of hours through the country ( i dont go tearing through at great speed) I just like to drive and the feeling it brings, I dont get the same feeling driving to work becasue ive got work on my mind but after work i just think about the pleasures of driving my car - but i feel more and more guilty with constant reminders of air pollution, high petrol prices, and road space (but at the same time it does not stop me) Anyone else feel the same? -
Banned from driving aged 13 2 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Am I missing something here? What is the point of banning a 13 year old from driving? Does this mean that my 12 year old son, who has no drink driving record, is allowed to drive?? Sigh! -
Ride and Drive 31 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Just spent four hours advanced driver training with Ride and Drive. I must say I enjoyed it immensely and picked up some really good tips. A lot of the advanced driving outfits are long way from where I live but Ride and Drive operate all over the UK. So for those of you who want to improve your driving at very reasonable cost and aren\'t likely to get a course paid for by your company I can recommend them. -
'Binary' driving : a generational thing ? 12 Jul 2016 (Forum)
So is it generational ? Are drivers now taught to drive like that ? I was always taught to drive smoothly, to anticipate, and (where possible) I drive for what's coming up 200 yards ahead. My wife thought the same thing. After getting out on these journeys she has remarked to me "That's why we normally drive". -

Driving Tips-Remembered 16 Apr 2005 (Forum)
I wondered what Driving tips others remember that have helped them survive on the road and are worth sharing. Someone once said to me, " If signals are the language of the road, why do so many people drive along talking to themselves ". -
