  I could really do with some advice. I purchased a 2008 xc90 d5 auto 110000 on the clock about 5 months ago. All been fine. Last month on a journey it started randomly stalling, before dying on me. Would then crank but not fire no matter what. Rac towed to my usual garage.

  Is it possible to replace driver seat with another -  current one causes severe back /leg pain. It is too sculptured and seat too long. We cannot find any suitable back/seat support aide. XC90 seat is perfect.  Thanks

  I had a Volvo XC90 as a loan car and was surprised that the engine was only a 2 litres diesel. For such a big car it went quite well. Lots of large cars seem to have smallish engines, Merc E class 220 for example, one I had a ride in had 335k on the clock so it's lasted well.

  Next week I'm going to be picking up the new family transport, a Volvo XC90 diesel. This will be the first diesel car I've owned. Apart from boring SWMBO to death with pleas about not forgetting this when filling the tank, what else should I know about owning, driving and running a diesel car?

  It's not the fact that I have bought a car blind (I did that with the Outback and I was very happy) but that I have actually swapped the Outback for a Volvo XC90 D5 SE. Last weekend was a bit of a last straw moment. We went out with the children and a friend or two and had to take both cars. A bit silly, especially as the destinations were only two or three miles away.

  We are a family of four (1 and 5 year old) and will be living near Gloucester but travelling to London at least once a fortnight. The car will also be used for the school run and commute. We have been driving a XC90, which we bought new and loved, but won't be bringing back to the UK. We can't decide which car to go for and whether to buy new or used. We are likely to be in the UK for 2-4 years before being posted overseas again.

  I have had the Volvo XC90 just under two weeks and have driven about 700 miles which for me is a lot. I am slowly getting to grips with it and in fact most of the issues I now have with it are down to the poor preparation by the supplying Volvo dealer.

  I want something that is obviously safe - I’ve looked at zafira and those back seats seem to have limited protection at the back. Also need to be able to fit a double buggy in there somewhere too.   So a C30 is a hatch, an S40 a saloon, a V50 an estate, an S60 a saloon, a V70 an estate, an S80 a big saloon and an XC90 a big estate. So what's a 99? An ice cream with a flake in it, dummy. Seriously, the way Volvo play the numbers game was news to me, is it news to you ? And anyone care to explain other manufacturers' numbering systems?

  I assume that this is the issue as even when air con is on and at its lowest we still get warm air! The car is a 2008 diesel. We also have an XC90 and the AC seems fine but wonder if i am having one done should I have both! Has anyone any experience of having it done and any suggestions?   Thanks in advance
• Volvo S60 (2000 - 2009) - 2004 D5 Axle Ping 2 Jan 2009 (Forum)
  Can anyone advise me of how i can erradicate an intermittent clunk sound from the front suspension. Other forums suggest replacing the drive shaft bolts with the XC90 ones as they have a rubber gromitt which minimise the vibration/noise. However, my local Volvo dealer argues that this is not the prescribed fix, instead they suggest the removal of the drive shaft and a replacing a washer and installing a new bolt at the cost of £120.

  Hit a deep puddle yesterday in my XC90, causing a bow wave of water over the car and clearly into the engine bay. A few seconds later the engine got sluggish and a 'Service needed' warning came up on the instrument panel. I stopped a mile or so up the road, let the engine idle, then switched it off.

  Just had a week with a brand new Volvo XC90 as a courtesy car. The number of driving aids is mindblowing from blind spot assistance, all round cameras, automatic parking...daren't try that...mirrors that dip themselves, headlights turning round corners, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, do we need all this stuff?

  He travels 30 miles a day to/from work, four days a week and part of the journey is on country roads with one very steep hill which can get icy in the winter. I am looking for a trendyish 4x4 with relatively low insurance, I like Volvo XC90, but I doubt they could be considered trendy! Any suggestions?
