You then transfer the stick to your PC and an application will analyse the data and highlight any areas where you could be driving more economically. Has anyone seen it in action? Kevin...
  • No more 3 pt., || parking, reversing in test? 7 Oct 2008 (Forum)
"Learner drivers could be spared the ordeal of having to convince a driving examiner of their ability to reverse round a corner or parallel park, under plans being considered by the Tories. Performing a three-point turn could also disappear from the test under the proposals."
  • Austin Allegro (working) on TV 19 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Forgot to mention that in new series 'Massive', which started on BBC3 9pm Sunday and is a weekly, the 2 main characters drive around in an Austin Allegro. Not sure which model, although it's obviously not a Vanden Plas. I'm surprised (and worried) to find myself thinking it looks quite good... and no road tax... BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/massive/ (no pictures of car though) F
  • Subaru Forester III (from 2008) - Any roadtests/feedback? 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Anyone out there own or drive the new 2008/9 Forester? Especially interested in the new diesel version - are there any on the road yet? Wondering if the new diesel is strong enough to lug the bigger Forester around capably?
  • Lotus Carlton 4 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Seriously, £20k for a 17 year old car, assuming they do get this price, what was the price of these brand new? My dad had a 2.0GLi version (in the days when that "i" was important) and I remember driving it as a raw 17 year old, newly passed my test, and twice spinning it 180 degrees due to the rwd power.

I notice that it has lowered sports suspension. My concern here is about going over speed bumps and the like. Does anyone drive an SR who can tell me whether they have experienced any problems like this or not. Thanks!

  • Volkswagen Bora (1999 - 2006) - 00 1.9 Funny Brakes 13 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Have had top mounts replaced, not sure if it is just me but the brakes don't feel as positive but abs works, and when I got home after a 2 mile drive at urban speed the front discs were hot. Would the replacing of the top mounts require any work on the braking system?
  • Volvo S60 (2000 - 2009) - Recently bought an S60 D5 10 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, recently bought an 05 S60 D5 auto with 26000 miles on it, i've since put a couple of thousand miles on it and it seems a nice car to drive, but what do the BR's think of these cars and what is there to look out for in the future, regarding engine, gearbox, suspension etc, thanks for your views.
  • Breath tests, settling a bet 20 Jun 2008 (Forum)
To settle a bet with regard to less enlightened times. My recollection concerning breath tests for alcohol whilst driving in the 1970's is that there was a sort of informal practise whereby they were not used for accidents that occurred in the morning as they might catch someone who had been drinking the night before and this was though unfair.

  • Subaru Legacy and Outback Diesel (2008 - 2009) - Legacy Diesel 24 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I believe the dealers have had one for a day or so last month and are singing it's praises, but as far as I know they have not been available for test drives by Joe Public.
  • Mercedes Benz A-Class W169 (2005 - ) - 15,000 miles a year - petrol or diesel? 6 Apr 2008 (Forum)
If you were driving 15,000 miles a year, travelling, primarily, at traffic-free times on A roads and motorways, would you plump for a petrol or diesel engine? My choices are a 1.5 or 1.7 petrol or a 2.0 diesel, with automatic transmission, in a 2 year old Mercedes A Class.

  • Citroen AX - Early 90s 1.1 Any experiences ? 14 Sep 2007 (Forum)
A friend has just obtained a well looked after AX 1.1 from the early 90s, 45K miles or thereabouts, FSR, for a good price. The pampered runabout of an old Polish gent who has given up driving. Does anyone who knows this model have anything to say about any part of it? s
  • Tyre pressure gauges 12 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I know that air pump gauges may or may not be accurate, so I would like to top up at the pump, drive home and use an accurate gauge to let the right amount of air out when the tyres are cold. If I buy a new gauge, how do I know if it's accurate? A year later, how do I know it's still accurate?
