  Full service history and new mot last week Monday past had travelled 40 miles and was returning home when I was aware illuminated  dpf flashing and whirring noise from under the bonnet. Got home and took the car to local garage who dipped the oil and foundit over the x mark  Chenged the oil  Still noise there no louder but like a ticking  Now at a specialist engineer locally who reckons due to the noise could be a bearing or moving belt  Dpf still flashing  Need to knowif this engine is on the way out I

  He threw some terms in i didnt understand, such as regeneration, and that having the physical components still attached was dangerous, and that turning the dpf on in the map wouldn't necessarily make the dpf work, that the physical dpf may still need to be removed before remapping, fire hazards etc. I wondered if anyone can make sense and explain to me what the problems would be in getting this car back to normal from its current state (turbo-based limp mode, egr and dpf deletes without physical removal, powerful map currently on causing problems, in and out of limp mode, engine misfires and turbo boost failures logged in fault codes).

  Hi , I really need some help and advice I'm on my 5th day of losing sleep over my car, I only bought it 28/08/10 one day after buying it my DPF light came on :(, bank holiday monday I took if for a oil change hoping it was just some diesel in the oil but no, its now at the mazda dealer and guess what it needs a new DPF but luckily it had a replacement DPF august 2009 and lots of other things but the paperwork is in Italian from a mazda dealer there, going by the very very little italian i know and the cost of all the work which was €3360 its safe to say it had a replacement!

  I think my Local Mazda dealer is playing tricks on me. I have recently purchased a 10 plate which had only done 36,000 miles. The DPF warning light flashed up and I went to my local dealer immediately. I will say at this point I know very little about the technical matters!   If you have a new diesel car on the motability scheme and your DPF filter clogs up because you only drive locally and can't be cleared on a long run meaning a trip to the dealer who will foot the bill? If it is a manufacturer's problem then they will but this problem only occurs if you don't use the car properly so in a way it is your fault the DPF got clogged.
