  How can I secure a Micra when the battery has been removed for charging? I can use the mechanical lock to secure the nearside door but I cannot see how to secure the offside door.

  I have a Merc A170 cdi with faulty alternator. Start the car move away and the battery light comes on, loss of power steering. Have only checked the battery voltage and it seems alternator is  not charging the battery.

  Driving home this afternoon the battery warning light came on and the car lost all power coming to a stop. I re-started the car OK and drove the remaining half mile home without any warning light or problems. Any ideas?

  Having flooded my CBR1000F again this morning and attempting to start it this evening i know find i'm in need of a battery charger. Before i go to Halfords , anybody got a recommedation for buying on the WWW. Basicly 12V and around a 4AH charging rate will surfice. I,ve seen a Draper charger for about £14 delivery any recommends.

  Does anyone have any experience of these solar powered trickle chargers that you plug in the cigar lighter to keep the battery topped up? There seem to be various models available from £20 to £400 and I know you get what you pay for but is the £20 end of the market a complete waste of time?

  At the beginning of July I had the battery changed on my Fiat 500 (with Halfords Autocentre). Since then my bluetooth, phone connection(s) and start/stop have all stopped working and my mileage won't stop flashing.  On Google's recommendation I disconnected the battery, left for 10/20 mins, and reconnected.

  My battery has been going flat intermittently for a few months. I got a new battery a couple of months ago but recently it's been happening more and more, to the point where, if left overnight, it will need a jump start in the morning.

  While driving sometimes the engine cuts off altogether in which I have to turn off the car fully then wait for a sec or two then start the car again in which it starts no problem and I can continue driving normally for miles without further problems. My battery is just under a year old bought from tanya batteries. I believe I have no problems with my battery as the battery was never flat. Battery terminals look fine too no dirt/rust on them and also checked and found nothing loose on its terminals.

    It tried but gradually it got weaker until I gave up.   Had it taken to the Garage they diagnosed the Coil Pack new one fitted. Car running fine next day battery flat as a Pancake. Jump satrted it ran for about three hundred yards started to lose Power Rev Counter not working nor the indicators or clock eventually conked out. Put a Spare battery on everything fine.
