2007 Mini one 1.4 - Bought faulty car from dealership. 16 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Hi, my mum and dad purchased my first car on 28/07/17, it's a 2007 mini one 1.4, they part exchanged our ford KA and payed a further £1200. Whilst initially viewing the car my dad noticed that the tread on the front tyres were low, the salesman insisted that the car would go through tests to make sure it's roadworthy before they collected it. -

mini cooper D 09 reg - the car people problems with my new car 18 Dec 2012 (Forum)
i am in the process of trying to get my money back on a mini that i purchased around a month ago, i traded my car in which was a belter but just fancied a changed (silly me). When i took it for a test drive there was 5 miles of diesel left in the tank so the salesman said i can only take it round the block. -
The lost art of car salesmanship 30 May 2007 (Forum)
In the end, I decided to stick with the Ran and wait until the S-max acquires the new 2.2 diesel engine next year. This week I tried to p/x my Mini Cooper S for a new Mini. Dealer 1 was very straightforward - test drive then straightforward p/x offer, with a two hundred pound discount. I then approached Dealer 2 to see if they would give me a better p/x price. -
Snapped coil spring- outside lane of the M5 7 Jul 2025 (Forum)
A scary experience in the Mini on the M5 near Exeter yesterday on the way back from an excellent week in Brixham. We initially thought we’d run over something after a loud bang, but then the tyre deflated and we quickly pulled onto the hard shoulder. -
Recommended car for my mother-in-law 22 Nov 2019 (Forum)
I feel as a doting SIL and to keep my wife's nerves becoming too frayed, I should advise her - she was ripped off with the Ka. Her emotional choice is another Mini (she had a Cooper for many years before she suddenly bought the Ka). I'm interested in anyone's views as to whether there's a more sensible purchase; here are the salient facts: She's a very sprightly and totally competent 89 year-old. -
Mini John Cooper Works (R56) - Clutch Replacement - Dual Mass Flywheel too???? 21 May 2014 (Forum)
My clutch has been shuddering slightly on take off. No clutch slip, but the pedal has been quite stiff too. It's done 68,000 miles. (5,000 of which... -
Mini one 2007 - Garage not fixing problem? Where do I stand legall 14 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I had a coolant leak and the coolant exchange was replaced, this lasted for 6 months and needed replacing again, the garage did this under the parts warranty... -
Morris Mini 1962 - Dynamo 24 Nov 2010 (Forum)
My car has been off the road for a while and I recently changed the car to negative earth, which only involved connecting a battery charger to the car... -
Small luxury cars? 11 Jan 2008 (Forum)
If Subaru produced a smaller, more space efficient Forester with better interior. If BMW produced a more space efficient 1-series. If the MINI had four doors, a better ride and better engines. If Lexus simply produced a 'mini' IS250. Considering the number of retired people coming out of large executive saloons, I would have thought that a manufacturer could clean up a car with the attributes noted above. -
Big problem on the roads this morning 18 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I went through this and another quarter mile up the road there was a two car shunt. Another 300 yards and a new Mini was into a tree! Coming past the two car shunt and passing the Mini, a guy in a Picasso was two inches off the rear of my car and then overtook me in an industrial estate/30mph On the way back home around an hour later, we were u-turned on the dual carraigeway with the multi car pile up, to enable them to clear up the carnage. -
Everyman Racing at Prestwold Hall, Leics 29 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I spent a wonderful morning yesterday out at Prestwold Hall, just outside Loughborough, Leics, taking part in a Mini Racing event (which was given to me as a 30th birthday present by my wonderful other half) and had an absolutely fantastic time. Over the four hours or so I got to drive a coach, run a fun Autotest in a Mini Cooper, be taken out for a few laps of the circuit by an instructor and then put down a few laps myself, take a gorgeous E-Type (still bearing Jack Brabham's name) out for a few more laps, and then be a passenger alongside one of their pro drivers in a Cooper S for a couple of extremely high speed (and slightly mental) laps. -
Magnets for oil filters 18 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I mean these plastic coated high intensity magnets that wrap round the oil filter can and are claimed to trap all the ferrous swarf, rather like the magnetic drain plug used to do in a Mini. Are they any good, or just a gadget for the gulible? -
all makes... - Cars in Music videos 9 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Went to the gym last night and whilst on the treadmill (for an hour) watched the top 40. Saw at least 2x pop videos with MINIs. one with the supercharged version the other with a convertable.... didn't seem very rock and roll..... whats your best car you've seen in a music video... for me its the Hot Rod in the ZZTOP videos.....hmmm Paul. -
wheel balancing weights 26 Aug 2009 (Forum)
There are several just delivered, still sealed Range Rovers, Discos etc in a local mini pound. I was surprised that all had large (some very large) clip on balance weights on their wheels. I was not expecting to see clip on weights but rather the stick on types. Cost surely cannot be the reason on cars of this price range. -
Toyota Yaris II/Vitz (2006 - ) - Heated Windscreen Washers? 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I'd have thought using a suitable washer mix would meet most requirements. Although many years ago I did make a little brass heat exchanger that plumbed into my Mini heater and screen washer system! -
POLICE AWARE! Car Wrapped in Cling Film Conundrum 4 Dec 2008 (Forum)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/13666355@N00/sets/72157610652427912/ I saw this MINI on Sunday in Nottingham wrapped in cling film with notes on paper under the cling film saying DO NOT MOVE and the logo of the Police Nottinghamshire Constabulary. I took the pictures as I drove using a telephone so they are a bit blurred. -
Toyota Yaris II/Vitz (2006 - ) - Who makes the diesel engine ? 29 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Can anyone solve an argument. I thought the 1.4 diesel was a Toyota engine, perhaps shared with the Mini. One of my friends insists it is a Peugeot-Ford one. There is a pint on it. Does the 1.6 engine in the Focus (which is Peugeot-Ford) have the horrible EELYOS or whatever additive. SLT -
Trabants 22 Feb 2007 (Forum)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6384585.stm The last one reminded me of something I saw on Top Gear once - someone had rebuilt a 601S with a tubular steel chassis and had put in disc brakes and a 1275cc Mini Cooper engine, enabling (thanks to the light weight) a sub-9 sec 0-60, IIRC. That sort of thing has always amused me, don't know why... -
12v fridge for the car? 21 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hello All, Do little mini 12volt fridge/freezers exist for cars does anyone know? Quick trawl about the place reveals sort of boat/caravan size things but not managed to find something that might be good on hols in the car.
