Classic Car - Car Panel Dents 1 Mar 2019 (Forum)
Hi all I have an old classic car and i have a dent in the car door panel, the issue is that this one is problematic in that the metal has stretched beyond its shrinkage limit. So what this means is that if i push it, it pops back in and leaves a hole and if i push it out from the other side it pops out and creates a mound. -
Ford Fiesta - Buy a Ford Direct car without seeing it? 29 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Would I be mad to buy the car based on the word of the dealer and have it delivered to me? The cars I have seen are all less than a year old and no more than 2000 miles on the clock, infact some only had a couple of hundred. Also, from what I hear Ford Direct cars are usually in great condition, has anyone bought one of these before? -
2003 Astra Convertable - Car Alarm 20 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I can unlock the car using the remote, I can turn the key in the ignition, but when I start the car, the alarm goes off. When I then take the key out of the ignition, lock and then unlock the doors, the alarm stops. No fault code is coming up on the monitor and all old fault codes have been cancelled out. -
First Car 11 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Hi I am looking to get my first car at the grand old age of 30. I am looking at small, economic, cars but want one that is fun to drive, and has a decent level of kit. I would also hope to get one with decent warranty. I am aiming to spend between £6-£8k and would prefer to get as new a car as possible. -
The post christmas car wash.... 24 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Bit cheeky I suppose as I live next to a hand car wash, still I dont fancy the swirls and scratches of their many used sponges and brushes even though really I shouldnt be bothered as my car is 12 years old. Used my christmas present of a microfibre wash mit and I can recommend them espically when using two buckets. -
Tesco extended car warranty 19 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Car is coming up to three years old and so the warranty is almost up. I am debating whether or not to take out an extended warranty. The official Citroen warranty is around £350 and seems to have too many exclusions. -
New cars in a terrible state 22 May 2008 (Forum)
Whoever's responsible for the upkeep of that car ought to be ashamed of themselves. It is not the first time, I've seen a few new cars go buy me that are in such poor condition my old banger puts them to shame. If you don't care about the car, why buy an expensive, shiny new one in the first place? -
unused vehicle blocking driveway 8 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Hi. I have a varient twist on the old 'someone's dumped a car in my driveway' problem I live in a shared house. 5 rooms 5 tenents 3 cars 2 parking spaces. one of the cars is effectively a 'dumped' car and is not used by the tenent. It just sits decaying in one of the parking spaces - preventing use of this space by an active driver who either has to park outside the premises or keep shuffling with the other person to get lawn space. -

Audi S5 - Replacing timing chains on a premium car 29 Mar 2025 (Forum)
v=gN_nk1P30mk">video is here , and I won't spoiler the cost of the work, but suffice to say, it fits the old saying that if you buy a used premium car, set aside a budget equal to the purchase price for servicing and repairs! -
Skoda Yeti - Notifying DVLA of sale to trader 20 Jun 2024 (Forum)
Obviosuly I’ll make sure payment is taken prior to them taking the car but should I give them them V5C and then notify online tomorrow morning or should I do it the old way and complete yellow section 4 and keep that and post it off, rather than doing it online? Thank you Jay -

Golf mk 7 - New VW paint problem ? 27 Mar 2021 (Forum)
Has anyone had any issues with the paint on the latest golf ? Mine is 2.5 months old and , when I've cleared bird mess from the bonnet with a brand car shampoo and car sponge , small ' swirl ' scratch marks have appeared. I've never had these problems before and washed my wife's Hyundai at the same time , with the same bird markings and no marks were left - and her new car cost 1/3rd of the price of the Golf ! -

Car alarm keeps going off 22 Jul 2018 (Forum)
Is it possible for an after market car alarm fitted to a 15 yr old vehicle to be adjusted so that it is less sensitive to passing vehicles ? For SOME TIME now-Nearby to me a landrover-parked outside on the road-has an alarm which periodically( 3/4 times a day on average) goes off when heavy /unusual/noisy traffic passes.
