Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 06 1.6HDI FAP DPF Removal Experiment 16 May 2010 (Forum)
My other hunch was that with the DPF removed, maybe the engine will gain a bit of performance with the massive blockage in the exhaust pipe taken out, the exhaust gases can flow a bit more freely. Only one way to find out, take the DPF out and see what happens. -
Astra Elite CDTi S/S 5 Door Diesel - Replacement Third Party DPF for Vauxhall Astra 10 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I currently own a 2013 Astra Elite CDTi S/S 5 Door Diesel which is having issues with the Diesel Particle Filter (DPF). I've had it cleaned a couple of times and this seems to help for about 4-5 months but then it has issues again (even though I'm driving it on the motorway a fair bit). I need it to last another 1-2 years until I can afford a better car so was considering getting a new DPF. -
Ford Focus Estate 1.6 TDCI - Will regen of DPF stop fumes in cabin? 24 Nov 2017 (Forum)
He came to the conclusion that the issue was caused by two things: the fact that the EGR valve was stuck open and the need for a DPF regen. The EGR valve has been changed and the fumes seem a little reduced - maybe. But there's still a kind of smoky, sooty smell getting in. Could that really be caused by a clogged DPF? When I asked the mechanic for an explanation of how those two things could cause 'nasties' to escape the engine and then get in via the vents he said in both cases that it was a matter of unburnt fuel, but didn't elaborate. -

Audi A3 - Diagnosing the problem turbo or dpf 6 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Anyone any experience with this? If an exhaust is badly fitted or if it has a blocked dpf, can it cause a rapid failure of a turbo? Trying to figure out if I need to replace a turbo or an exhaust. When the engine is started white smoke pours out of the exhaust and some bluey tinted smoke slowly rises from around the turbo. -
Volvo V40 - Potential DPF Issues? 19 May 2015 (Forum)
My use going forward will be 12k plus pa with a good mix of short and long journeys. Is there anything I should look out for and could this low usage have started potential DPF issues? Any advice on this would be appreciated - thanks -
ibiza ecomotive 1.4 - DOES IT HAVE A DPF? 6 Sep 2014 (Forum)
I'm looking at buying a 2008 old shape 1.4 ibiza ecomotive with 35K on it. I cant find if it has a dpf fitted before I travel to view the car. The showroom admitted it was in the garage for an engine light but declined to say which one it was... They are rare so I dont want to miss out, but I also do lots of short journeys so I'm concerned maybe its not the one for me. -
