Despite a fairly high average repair cost, the total number of claims were low, giving it an index of just 16,75 compared to an average of 67,39 and average repair cost of £238.95.

  MG Rover Warranty at a 20% Discount 19 Apr 2005 (News)
  Previously, MG Rover had reimbursed franchised dealers for the cost of any repairs carried out for a period of up to three years after a new car was sold. However, following the analysis of their financial state, PwC has confirmed MG Rover can no longer afford to honour the commitment. It's estimated 150,000 MG Rover owners have lost their car warranty cover - vehicles which were ranked 16th out of 28 in the annual Warranty Direct Reliability Index Survey ( www.reliabilityindex.co.uk ) "MG Rover owners have been left in the lurch with their vehicle warranties.

  BMW Debuts Six New Cars 16 Feb 2001 (News)
  BMW is unveiling six new cars at the Geneva Motor Show. Most important is the World debut of the new 3 Series Compact which will compete head-on against Mercedes C Class Sport Coupe. First releases of the new Compact will be powered either by a British-built 1.6 litre 116bhp Valvetronic engine or the straight six 192bhp engine now designated 325ti.

  4,514 Mile 1959 Heinkel Kabine in Online Auction 1 Jul 2019 (News)
  It left the factory in December 1959 and was registered to Mr Stock in Jan 1960. He scarcely used the car, but nonetheless mollycoddled it. Much of the car’s original delivery paperwork still accompanied it when his estate put it up for sale in December 1983. The vendor spotted the advert for the Heinkel in the back of the Sunday Times and bought it as a present for his infant son to enjoy in the future.

  Fast Fords in Historics 13 th July Classic Car Auction at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge include a rare and original 1971J Ford Escort Twin Cam originally built in Sydney by Ford Australia. This un-mucked-about-with Twin Cam looks very innocent in ‘Q-Car’ Copper Red with five and a half J steel wheels, but has the benefit of being bored out to 1,700cc with a lightened and balanced crankshaft and, of course, twin Weber carburettors.

  Ferrari Dino set for Race Retro sale 5 Feb 2019 (News)
  A 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT is set to go under the hammer at Race Retro. The car, which is one of 235 UK right-hand drive examples, will head to auction at Stoneleigh Park on 23 February. One of just a few cars finished in Azzurro Dino, the car comes with its Classiche 'Certificato di Autenticita', and will be offered at the auction with a sale estimate of £240,000 to £280,000.

  Race Retro’s acting show director Lee Masters said, 'We are deeply honoured to have the Van Diemen at Race Retro and thrilled that our visitors will be the first to get a closer look at this incredible racing car.'   Among 170 classic cars, Historics Auction at Brooklands Museum on 19th May features a ’59 Chevrolet Corvette C1, a ’66 Stingray roadster and a '68 C3 roadster – all 4-speed manual. The Harley Earl styled C1 is a 1959 boat-tailed 283 V8 carburettor 4-speed manual.

  Jaguar builds its first D-type in more than 60 years 7 Feb 2018 (News)
  Sixty-two years after the last D-type was built, Jaguar has restarted production for a limited run of one of its most competitive cars. In total, Warwickshire-based Jaguar Classic will hand build 25 D-types as continuation cars . Original plans for D-type production in 1955 show 100 were intended to be built – but only 75 cars were completed. The D-type, which won the Le Mans 24 Hours race three times between 1955 and 1957, was powered by the six-cylinder XK engine.

  French barn finds head to auction 11 Mar 2016 (News)
  The entire collection of a recently deceased enthusiast is set to go under the hammer at an auction in his native France – with more than 70 vehicles up for grabs, including classic cars, motorcycles and a fascinating array of children’s pedal cars. Previously stored in a barn in the rural area of Cléguérec, the collection is being sold on Easter Saturday (March 26, 2016) by specialist auction house Jack-Philippe Ruellan.

  In total, the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s annual Bonhams sale earned £22.6 million on the second day of the world’s largest motoring garden party that now takes the place of the annual British Motor Show with some manufacturer stands more than three storeys high.  Bonhams and Goodwood racing car historian Doug Nye, said: “This Sale has offered a phenomenal range of really special and important cars with their various classes. Above all, each of the prime cars offered has links with some of the greatest racing drivers of all time.

  Sir Ray said: 'I can recall the exact spot on Streatham Common where my parents took me to watch these wonderful old machines pass. Of course, then the oldest car taking part was probably only about 30 years old but still totally different from their modern counterparts. I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to ride on one of those cars.'
