vauxhall warranty 5 Jun 2003 (Forum)
The Vauxhall 3-year warranty seems to be different from what you might expect. My 18 month old Zafira was diagnosed with no refrigerant in the aircon, no leaks could be found and I ended up with an £80 bill after recharging the system. Some 3-year warranty. BTW GM advertising in the US seems now to be conceding that their earlier cars weren't as reliable as they should have been but that they have improved significantly since. -
Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi Clutch Bearing 27 May 2003 (Forum)
Has anybody experience of this failure or is the reported problem just on the very early examples of this engine/clutch combination on Citroen and Peugeot cars ? -
Microcar Virgo 25 Apr 2003 (Forum)
A friend of mine owns one of these little tiny-engined cars.Has anyone heard of any problems with them. His car is two years old with quite low mileage. He has had a few niggly little problems but the biggest was when the handbrake assembly completely detached from the "fibreglass" bodywork. He called the main dealer but was told that the warranty only covers the engine.Due to this he did a repair himself with sealant etc. -
Saxo cambelt-advice please. 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Citroen advise change the cambelt at 72K service and they do not give a time limit. What should I do? As the car is coming up to 5 years old I feel inclined to get the belt changed but is this necessary? -
Xsara Temperature 18 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Mine runs at 75C; I'd have thought it should be higher, but the garage tell me that this engine 'is designed to run cool'. they also say that the overall fuel consumption of 43mpg is 'about right'. the car is 13 months old, covered 13k miles. Maybe things will change after it's had it's first service next weekend.......? -

Fitting New Clutch Cable 306 TD? 16 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Have seen mention of this issue before, but not the solution! How do you get sufficient access to the engine side of the bulkhead to release old cable, and engage clip fitting of the new? Removal of intercooler and associated pipe work does not enable enough access. Car is 1997 R reg 1.9DT 5 door. Thanks for any practical solutions others have found -
toyota celica 26 Nov 2002 (Forum)
i think i've decided on my next car after a loy of research. my goals were relibility looks good (sporty) good performance probably german or japanese not to pricey insurance or to run for about £10,000 hence toyota celica (new model) maybe 2 years old with about 30k on clock so i've read all the reviews, but has anyone owned one, if so what are your views? -
Anti-freeze 31 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Just tried to scape the ice off my car windscreen.......hopeless then got my old halfords spray that your just spray on it "melts" the ice away, brilliant but its run out. Me being tight was wondering if just some anti freeze (coolant) with water would have the same affect., and put that in the spray dispenser. -
Golf MK 3 Rust under door seal 29 May 2002 (Forum)
I have a P registered Golf and recently I've noticed a small patch of rust under drivers door seal, as it's not in an exposed position (i.e. not likely to be stone chipped) should I be able to claim on the 11yr non-perforation warranty? I wouldn't have thought this was normal for a 5 year old car. Rgds, Tom -

Fiat Stilo (or whatever it's called) TV advert 7 Feb 2002 (Forum)
I wonder how long the new Fiat Thingy's electrics would last if people really treated them like they do in the TV advert (in the UK) for it?! If I was a punter in the market for a new car, I don't think the ad would convince me. But then again, maybe I'm old fashioned. -
diesel fuel 11 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Having just had starting problems with my 15 month old diesel zafira (injector seal) S&it happens but this was nicely deoderised by the local dealer f.o.c. and a car for the day. However whilst the problem was ongoing, my German colleagues recommended mixing petrol with diesel fuel in a 2 to 30 litre ratio. and claimed that this was the special winter additive by the fuel companies. -
tracking 13 Sep 2001 (Forum)
i need to get my cars front geometry checked, and i was wondering what the best equipment is for the job. some garages seem to have a very old and crude system with strings (which seems to be really very poor), and i'm sure there's a better system out there. -
Noisy Tappets 10 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Once driving the tappet noise is non-existant as I think the oil pressure is up and OK. At idle, it's audible as a ticking noise. The car has been fully serviced and 4 years old with 60K on the clock. I'm wondering if the oil is not the right grade but other than that I'm foxed. -
Honda Accord Coupe wing mirror 7 Aug 2001 (Forum)
They said they could get one but I would have to pay an extra £50 ( in top of the £170) to respray it black. They claimed this part was no longer available in black, i find this hard to believe as the car is only five years old. -
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL roadster - First drive if the year 4 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Lovely drive around the kent country side stopping at a pub on the old A20 for a spot of lunch. Many people asking about the car. Was asked by someone if I was willing to sell but seen as it's not mine I'm not in the position to sell. Out of curiosity what do back roomers think it could be worth? -

BMW Z4 3.0 Vs Porsche 987 3.2 - BMW Z4 3.0 Vs Porsche 987 3.2 20 Feb 2016 (Forum)
I have 15K to spend on a great sports car, Top priorities - Something Fast, Great looking, Reliable, and probably a drop top. I'll be doing some hefty mileage (approx 20K a year, 70% motorway, 30% country roads) After research 15K will get me a Porsche Boxster 3.2, about 10 years old with approx 40k on the clock but the Z4 3.0 will be about 6 years olds with about 30K mileage for the same money. -
