  i have a groaning noise from the front of my touran. it sounds like springs turning on the spring mounts. none of them are broken. when the car is jacked up the sound goes away. none of the ball joints look to be worn. the link arms seem ok. any idea,s would be greatly appreciated. cheers rich

  my 04 x-trail makes a humming noise from the front o/s only when steering left everything looks ok under neath but i suspect it may be the drive shaft support bearing making the noise has anyone had a similar problem or can offer any advice - cheers

  It also claims to have an engine gaurentee - what is that your engine won't die the second you put it in? I am very confused by the advert it sounds like an american snake oil add from the 1970's :(.

  hi all, my 98/s clk 320 needs a new starter, but th job looks very tricky. Apparently its not a straightforward swap, and a 4 hr job according to my mechanic, as engine bits need to be moved out of the way. Can anyone shed some light on this job?

  We checked all hoses even at the back of the engine no leaks. No excesive black smoke either Is this a common problem? BTW I has 3 406's 1.9dt and 1 306 1.9dt and they all much quicker. Thanks

  Think of all those mobile phone chargers you have each with a different connector.. when the round Nokia one can just be slipped in - eyes closed. Wiper blade connectors would surely be a start.. or light bulbs perhaps? What`s your biggest gripe in this area?

  to add her as a named driver for their "P" reg Fiesta 1.25. The car's main driver is her mum, with her dad named, both in their 50's with good records, obviously that company doesn't want to insure youngsters. Can anybody suggest somewhere else to try ? Thanks.

  id=5651 Interesting advice from Cobra - but is it in the best interests of personal safety given today`s knife culture? We leave our car keys on the coffee table in the lounge at night - in the belief that car thieves are pretty serious if they have made it that far. Would you prefer them to take the keys and go?

  I've seen a W-reg 5dr Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec S Ghia on eBay http://tinyurl.com/4arg66 I've done a preliminary 2pass VRM check which comes back fine, only 4 owners (not 2 - but that could be dealers). Parkers can't seem to give me a valuation on this.

  My wife has an 04 Cooper S with 24k on the clock. The power steering failed and is booked in with the local garage (not Mini) on Monday. Having done a little research, this appears to be a common problem. Is it something that Mini now recognises as a design fault and will help with costs or do I have a fight on my hands?

  I am looking to colour-code the bumpers and door mouldings on my Ford Focus and would like to know if spraying over the original black plastic mouldings, or buying replacement parts which were already painted (for a different colour, as they did not make ST170's in tonic blue), then spraying the parts the colour of my car?

  My 106's gearbox is rattling and whining and I noticed rebuild kits available on Ebay with 6 bearings and 3 oil seals. Is it a difficult job to replace the worn bearings needing special tools? I've had motorbike boxes apart but never a car one.

  Diesel 2.0 CD Di 1998 S Reg - have received two more quotes for labour to replace fuel injection pump with control module but is dependent upon whether the timing belt runs the injection pump - does anyone know in relation to this spec Astra?

  Hi i have an s reg 1.9 td 406, 100k on the clock with an erratic idle it seems to be variating between 1k and 1.1k when the engine is on idle. Then engine appears to run OK when accellerating or cruising, any suggestions, i was thinking fuel?
