  • Vauxhall Astra Sxi - Vauxhall Astra 6 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I replaced the battery (Saturday) and the car started first turn of the key ( WOW I Thought ) After the first initial start the engine would only occasionally rev / respond to the accelerator and the idle was very lumpy it sounded like it may have only been running on two cylinders shortly after the engine stalled Upon restart the engine revved almost into the red but then died back to a very lumpy idle and again only occasionally responding to the accelerator Noting the fuel was quite low and thinking the petrol may have gone off over the winter months I added approx. two gallons of fuel which has made no difference at all Hoping the head gasket hasn’t gone or something more severe due to the bitter winter months Anyone help
  • peugeot 307 - Catalytic converter fault and anti pollution fault 3 Jun 2013 (Forum)
I own a 307 1.4 16v petrol, on a 54 plate and am currently having problems, when driving the car will work for a few short trips then will start to play up. It loses power, and feels as though its going to stall, it has had the coil pack changed, two fuel injectors changed, two exhaust valves changed, spark plugs changed, injector harness changed and we are getting nowhere the fault is still there! The display will come up with anti pollution fault and catalytic converter fault, guzzles fuel and the engine management light flashes.

  • VW Amarok - Amarok AutomaticHJ review 6 Jun 2012 (Forum)
quote...."The automatic Amarok comes with an engine stop/start system as part of Volkswagen's fuel-saving BlueMotion Technology. A first for a pick-up and still pretty rare on many automatic passenger cars. It's a fairly intrusive system and quick to restart too. The Amarok also get regenerative barking and low rolling resistance tyres which helps improve fuel economy - it averages a claimed 37.2mpg and emits 199g/km - better figures than the 2.0 BiTDI 163PS Amarok with a manual gearbox.".....
  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203 (2006) - Engine Services Light on and staying on 2 Apr 2012 (Forum)
Topped up oil, light stays on. The book contradicts itself a little it says 1. Light is no fuel- restart 3 or 4 times after filling     If not problem with fuel or exhaust system Later in book it says 2. Problem with electrics,   Either coolant gauge or rev counter   I have checked over everything and all seems well other than the low oil which I resolved.
