206 bypassing auto unlock 18 Dec 2004 (Forum)
It intermittently keeps unlocking when trying to lock the car even when all the doors are shut. I see this used to be an issue on 306's and you could bypass the unlock by shorting 2 wires on the conrol unit together. Can you do the same on a 206 as it is getting annoying. -

Rover 75 2.5 brakes 5 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Hi All, I have a problem with my R75 in that the N/S rear brake disc is badly scored (for whatwever reason - stone in pad maybe). The pads are obviously bought as a piar & will be replaced at te same time, but my question is this - can the disc itself be replaced singly or do they have to be replaced as a pair, ie both rear discs at the same time? -

Interior lights when driving 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
The Blackpool illuminations thread has reminded me of something I find most odd. I thought the people on TV driving around at night with the interior light(s) on was simply to aid the camera shot but have noticed quite a few drivers doing exactly this. Surely this considerably reduces their ability to see out, although it could explain why they need their headlights and foglights on all the time? -

1998 AMG E55 12 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I've seen a 98 S reg AMG E55 at a local dealers priced at 15995 with 90k on the clock... looks mint outside and in, and has full MB history. Any opinions? I know servicing, types brakes etc will be expensive for this sort of car, but are there too many miles on the clock for this to be a sound buy? -
Rover 400, spare key fob needed 5 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I recently purchased a S reg rover 400 with only one alarm/immobiliser key. I have seen many Rover fobs advertised on Ebay with the description saying they are easy to re-programme at your Rover dealer, for around £15, does any one know if this is true and will it work for previously used keys that are offered, as well as brand new unprogrammed units. -
timing belt change on Golf TDI \'96 29 May 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I was wondering how crucial it is to have the belt changed on time. Mine is due on 80,000, it\'s on 78,000 now should I do it now (I\'m planning a long weekend journey around 600 miles) or should I have it done now. Also is there anything else I neeed to know about having a timing belt changed on this model? -
Climate control - Audi A4 1997 11 May 2004 (Forum)
Just wondering if anyone can help. On our A4's climate control is there anyway that we can stop the climate control from increasing the strength of puff as it gradually works up to the temperature set. By this I mean that we set the blower at its lowest setting but then we keep having to turn it down as the car turns it up. -

Rover 214Si; Reverse lights 9 May 2004 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me if this is a common fault and any ideas? If it is the g/box reversing switch, where is the S/W located, on top of the g/box or next to the gear lever. How often should I change the cam belt? What is the servicing periodicity, 6K, 9K or 12K miles. Many thanks in advance. Peter -
Citroen Xantia manual 7 May 2004 (Forum)
I have recently attempted to purchase a service manual for my Citroen Xantia 1.8si estate Vreg 2000?, and have been told that the Haynes manual only goes up to 1998 S reg. Does anyone know whether this manual will cover the engine/mechanics/suspension etc. for my car, or were there any modifications to the car after 1998 which mean the manual would not cover my car spec. -
Insurance yes or No? 31 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Daughter's Fiesta has had quite serious damage done by a ridge tile being blown off a roof into the n/s wing. I'd guess wing replacement required. House owner has said she will claim it from house insurance. How would she go about doing this, and ought I be reporting it to daughter's car insurer (which I am reluctant to do in case she loses NCB). -
