• Rover 416 that hates wet weather 29 Feb 2004 (Forum)
  It's been into Rover who said nothing was wrong, it's been in Panks Auto Electrical who said it was the ECU. Replaced ECU at a cost of £300 and it still breaks down (in the process of getting money back for that). I replaced the HT leads last week and thought that cured the problem until a heavy downfall this week and once again it packed up.

  If replacing the fuel does not solve the problem then I can only think that it is a problem with one of the sensors to the ECU or the ECU itself. Has anyone else had this type of problem or could throw some light onto what the cause my be. Thanks.

  the above is my car . taken to the workshop with misfire. they checked no1 & 2 no spark replaced the coil still the same so checked the wiring, then the ecu all come with no faults. can u help me to solve the problem

  Hi,is the fuel pump on an 03 focus tdci coded? if so to recode ecu does it have to go to ford? or can any good auto elc do it? cheers

  only running on two cylinders and both coils have been changed.was found to be ecu bolted to the throttle body £416.00 at main dealer. i got a new one for £244.00 with insructions to set, which must be followed.

  Several times my alarm has gone off for no apparent reason. The dealer says he had reprogrammed it but if it happened again I need a new ECU ! Of course it happened again yesterday. Anybody know how to disconnect the siren?

  Would swapping a halogen reflector headlight unit with a xenon unit (also for a DS4) would work or the car ECU would just not recognise it? My car currently doesn't have xexon (besides MOT considerations)

  hello my 1998 306 1.6i Xs vehicle My Mp5.2 ecu vehicle is not working, there is no spark in the vehicle, no fuel, no injection, the electricity to the injection must be plus and minus but there are two pluses, I would love if you help them both

  Hello, my 1998 civic AUTOMATIC 1.4  has started revving of its own accord (no pun intended) when in park or neutral, any advice on repairing this, bit worrried its ECU, thanks, Mike.

  The alarm on my S reg astra sometimes does 4 quick beeps after I have turned the car off and opened the door. Dealer says "problem with ECU" but my previous experience is that this is code for "we have no idea". Any help out there ?

  The starting is turning but theres no kick out of her, just keeps turning and turning and its no the fuel as the fuel is comming out off the bleeding screw. Is there a problem with the ECU or is it a fuse somewere?

  There has been correspondence in the past on the subject of cars being reluctant to restart after having been driven a very short distance (like out of the garage to wash it) and then switched off. All to do with the circuitry or something in the ECU. My question is, which are the best/worst cars for this? Donald

  I thought it detected oxygen, not hydrocarbons. Also, if it packs up, then engine can still run, so how does it tell the ecu to shut down firing?
