  I've flattened the battery on my Yamaha YZF750 and I'd like to know if I can charge the battery in situ. If I try to remove the battery my Datatool alarm goes off, but I'm a bit wary of charging it on the bike and maybe zapping the electrics.

  Need to replace the battery on my T reg (1999) Mondeo, looks like it's the original battery in there at the moment, a Motorcraft Superstart.   Can anyone explain why so many electronic gadgets which run on two AA or AAA batteries decide to stop working as soon as the battery voltage is down to 1.47 Volts? The nominal battery voltage is 1.5, brand new ones usually read almost 1.6, why do the manufacturers not design the circuits to keep going till individual batteries are down to say 1.4 Volts?

  To overcome the problem of a low battery when the car has not been used for several weeks, I plan to fit a charging socket inside the boot so that I can recharge the battery regularly with a mains charger.
