Multiple - Thoughts / opinions on the listed car ads 2 Mar 2019 (Forum)
For the Avensis, I think the auto would be a better choice than the manual; one because of the better fuel economy of CVT and, two because of the EPB in the Avensis. With an auto transmission, I suppose you can avoid using the parking brake while stopped in traffic, and use the park mode on the auto transmission. Also I'm not sure how convenient a one touch release parking brake is with a manual transmission. I understand that the parking brake can be allowed to auto release. -
Volkswagen T5 Transporter - Handbrake Fail 9 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I wrote to Volkswagen to state my concerns about the handbrake and that I felt that the brake had not been engaging fully after the feel of it after their mechanic tightened the cable. They were slow to respond to my complaint and after no confirmation of receiving it for weeks, eventually got back to me to say that their mechanic said he only tweaked the brake cable and that in his opinion it was driver error by not leaving it in gear on a slope. -

Hit and Run Compensation 3 Jun 2010 (Forum)
i am just worried that his defence might blame my brother and say it is his fault, does anybody know if he could claim compensation to help with his rehab and injuries, and do a case on the driver who didnt even bother to brake, but also run another case against the school who surely had a contractual duty to take children safely home and not leave them on a busy main road just because they try to avoid a one way road. -

MOT Retest Rip-off??? 19 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have just had a car MOT'd at my local garage which I have used regualarly for the last few years and it failed on pitted front brake discs. The car in question belongs to a member of my family and only does around 1000 miles per year It is on a 1988 F plate, so it has seen almost 18 years service even though it has a genuine mileage of 56000 miles. -
2004 Honda Civic 1.6 Sport Problems 27 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Took it back again this time they heard a slight noise and resurfaced the brake pads and discs. This has cured the screech but the brakes sound rougher than they did before. The next problem was with the metal effect surround for the gear gaiter. Everytime I put it in gear it creaked. -
