I notice Lidl's are selling oil change pumps for £10 (where's everyone gone?) so was wondering about using one of these instead. What are people's experience of using them? Pros and cons? I guess one 'con' will be if you are not sure that the pick-up pipe is genuinely at the bottom of the sump, so it might not remove as much oil as it could? -

Hello, I took my car into the French equivalent of Kwik Fit (I recenttly moved to France) to get the oil changed and they have told me there is no way they can remove the oil plug to replace the oil because the plug is stuck. They told me to take it to a VW dealership, but I am puzzled why (and they did not speakl enough english to be able to explain why) because the last oil change according to the service history was just at a generic garage. -

I'm Still naving problems with the gearchange on the Yaris when cold. 1st-2nd and 2nd to 3rd are very chrunchy. This problem started when I changed the gear oil for Toyota 75w-90 gear oil. The dealer eventually changed the oil for Shell Donax TA (ATF) which made a big difference but the poor gearchange when cold remains A friend has reccomended Red Line MT90. -
