Hi all I have 2000 model Xantia 2.0hdi 90bhp with AirCon, when I put the boot down to go up through the gears the engine gives a wavy sound to it as if she is not firing on all cylinders or not getting diesel. pulled out the fuel pressure regulator at the weekend and blew it out with a air hose, all was clean there. plugged the computer in and one injector was injecting too much fuel, got that one changed and still happening. -
Vauxhall Corsa - car dealers 27 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I bought a 2007 Corsa from a used car dealer and regret ever going near them. Links View Garages of Wallasey, Wirral left me with two pints of fuel max so I almost ran out of fuel( they use jerrycans!) Who would have paid for that if the catalytic convertor had been ruined?? They made mistakes on the MOT and the road tax. They only supplied one key although they said their cars all came with two. -

Today my husband went to drive it and it started no problem, drove no problem but when he looked at the dials on the dashboard the temperature dial was at the highest point and the fuel gauge was higher than if you had a full tank of fuel! can anyone give us any advice on what could be going wrong and what checks we can do on the car in order to try to find a solution before we end up with another huge bill?

On longer journey e.g. 30 minutes and when cruusing at constant speed of 40 or 50 the car suddenly jolts as if loss of fuel. No engine lights comes on. The car then picks up again and generally is ok. Feels dangerous, when loss of power/fuel? I'm currently having problems with my 1.8 astra, I recently got the engine replaced as piston failure occurred when driving down the motorway due to low oil, the mechanic said now after the new engine in when He reconnects the battery leads without the ignition on the fuel injectors are staying open and filling the cylinders and inlet manifold full of fuel. The mechanic said it was a ECM so that was another 150pound, So I purchased a 2nd hand brain off him with chip and reader and the mechanic replaced it with NO CHANGE!

This went out after the next stop but still coughed at low speeds and idling. The "MPG"went to 70+ although the fuel was beening used at a high rate leaving dark SMOKE behind us most of the way. Hi All I have a mondeo tdci which my wife has been using regularly for the past 2 years with no problems then 2 weeks ago she parked it up outside the house next morning it would not start checked for fuel full tank looked for any leaks and could see nothing, checked the forums & saw that the cam sensors fail so bought one of these and a crank sensor and fitted both. I must admit that I did change the fuel filter at the start of my fault finding but as I have a fast flow of diesel coming out of the return pipe when it is removed I presume that the pump is working and most of the air would be out.

I have a 2000 Ford Focus diesle TD on stariong first thing in morning takes awhile cranking 10 secs finally starts but only tickover for awhilw 10 secs when revs do kick in it fine untill I try to pull away and no power use a mixture of clutch and accelerater to get going when revs are up it is fine goes like a rocket if I stop and turn of engine it will not start only after continues cranking and it will suddenly start up it did come right once after I switched air con on and off but after swithing off it went back to loss of power this method has not worked since I have changed both fuel and air filters and there is no smoke at all as if it is not getting fuel at the right time Any Ideas anybody please .ford mondeo - Mondeo high idle speed i 53 petrol 20 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Also a problem which may be related is when in cruise control, the car accelerates, then pulls back like it is starved of fuel the accelerates again. In my last post I was complaining that I could not get the fuel consumption above 30, well now with this problem you think that the consumption would be worse, but the mpg display shows over 40.
