Old tyres 5 Mar 2001 (Forum)
The wheels have been off the ground and the tyres kept at proper pressure. Will the passage of time have rendered the tyres useless or should they be safe for driving? All the best -
Citroen C5 Mk III - Suspension issues 10 Apr 2016 (Forum)
In fact, driving now in Sport mode is about the same as Normal used to be. (4) Driving over some of the local speed humps (the metal variety designed to slow you down to walking pace) the front mudflaps are now hitting these. -
Ford Mondeo - Engine problem(?) after speedo failure (52 Mondeo) 20 Jun 2013 (Forum)
I thought it may not be safe to drive to Oxford any more, and we stopped the car and called for the roadside assistance (Aria assistance, coming with my car insurance policy) to come and look at it. They outsourced the job to a local garage. -
Ford Focus CMAX 54 1.6 TDCi Zetec - Legal Advice - Dealer's warranty 25 Mar 2013 (Forum)
At the time of purchase he didnt have the history as he was due to get the history from Peugeot Dealer as this was a part exchange. So he promised me to get it ASAP. but till date he isnt able to locate the history. I did drive the car with no issue from Bristol to London as i was driving at about 60mph max 65 on M4. At the day of purchase he gave me a small test drive in a small street as he didnt have the Road Tax, he got the MOT done for me couple of days back, with no advisory. -
Used estate/MPV - holy grail sought. 16 Mar 2013 (Forum)
I like easy, relaxed driving and tend to drive in low revs when I can but like to have a bit of power in reserve for those occasions when we really load up the car for holidays/trips and such like. For me the holy grail is a reliable car (couldn't car less about badge etc.) a couple of years old c. -
Jaguar x type 2.0 ltr D. - Engine cuts out when driving / turning right 16 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I have a Jaguar 2.0 ltr diesel, 06 with 93k 0n the clock. I purchased the car at the end of july this year. The car was driving fine mostly local journeys. Then i was driving the dorset at the end of August for our holiday. We had driven about 50 miles along the motorway when the car lost power but was still running. I came off at the next junction and stop the car in a car park. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 1.8 or 2.0 litre petrol, or 2.0 TDCI? 18 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Of the two, my impression from the reviews is that there's not much to choose between them either in driving quality or price, but that the Mondeo is a slightly better drive and slightly more reliable. The ideal purchase would be youngish car which has been run in without clocking up massive mileage, and after burrowing around I find that the best deals on offer are on 07 reg Mondeo IIIs at Motorpoint. -
New car shortlist - down to 3 21 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I realise that if I get a Verso, TVM will never speak to me again - in its defence it's a lot better to drive than other MPVs. We don't need the seven seats, but there is a flat floor with all rear seats down. Good to drive with minimal turbo lag; just a touch wallowy round corners, probably inevitable given the height of the car. -
Seat Leon FR TDi 170: 5,500mile report 3 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Windscreen wipes ? clap hands type and I love the way they park vertically, but they are set up for left hand drive, so there is a streak down the drivers side rather than passengers. -
4 years with a Scenic 14 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Its a bit noisy and boomy and underpowered, but cruises happily at 80/85 all day once wound up. Find it very comfortable and like the driving position despite the reports of people who think its like driving a bus. Its been handy for trips to the dump (with the seats out its huge), the dog likes it, the boy likes it, the wife is happy in it. -
Am I jinxed or a bad driver? (long post) 25 May 2006 (Forum)
Again I hit the brakes and skid a little, then come home feeling terrible. Do I need an advanced driving course, or is London just a terrible place to drive in, nervous driver or not?? {Franco, I don't know about the advanced driving course you need, more likely you need a bar of soap to wash your mouth out with. -
Top Cop nicked at 128MPH! 17 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Steyn, who declined to identify Duncan by name until he had appeared in court in March, said the director had been driving his private car but had been on official business. "He was driving a private vehicle like all high-ranking officials in the department. None of us drive provincial government vehicles," he said. -

Rear daytime running lights 31 Jul 2023 (Forum)
Not sure whether this has been discussed before but why are rear daytime running not required by law? How many newish cars do you see without any rear lights on in attrocious driving conditions. Seems like a no brainer to me but there is obviously a reason. -
