Vauxhall Zafira 1.4 Sri turbo auto - How is a turbo with an auto box? 12 Oct 2024 (Forum)
My wife and l like automatic petrol engined cars in a roomy MPV bodystyle, not SUV. Over the yaers, we have got used to Japanese cars with approx 2 litre engines, but to get one now you have to either 'buy old' or 'buy import'. -
Renault - Should I trust Renault? 21 Jul 2024 (Forum)
So much so we were on the verge of considering a Clio as our second car But at just 3 years old the automatic gear box on the Kadjar has failed resulting in a lengthy visit to the garage (>10 days) as a part (something to do with the clutch??) has to be ordered Thankfully an extended warranty was purchased! -
Where to buy used cars nowadays? 5 Jul 2024 (Forum)
Where is everyone’s go to place to purchase low priced used cars now? Especially for the hugely popular economical supermini automatic market. Autotrader - usually overpriced by private sellers and salesman if you do see a bargain it’s with a garage with terrible or no reviews in some dodgy area Gumtree - see autotrader and doesn’t seem to be as popular as it used to be for used cars Facebook marketplace - everyone knows about this one. -
Used Estate Recommendation 1 Jul 2024 (Forum)
Requirements below: - Budget 15-20k - Family car as we have 2 children - Petrol as mainly driving short journeys - Prefer automatic - Preferably less than 4 years old and under 40k miles Having done a bit of research, I narrowed it down to either a Škoda Octavia Estate, Škoda Superb Estate or Mazda 6 Estate. Currently got my eye on something like these: https://www.cinch.co.uk/used-cars/make/model/details/8f6f1aba-317b-446c-b399-252b1762e8e3? -
Peugeot 308 - Auto petrol intermittent erratic revving / stall 3 Jun 2024 (Forum)
My wife's automatic 1.2 2015 308 is experiencing a strange revving / stalling issue. The engine is revving up slightly or bogging down whilst driving, particularly under 35 mph. Then at very low speeds it has on a couple of occasions stalled (reverse parking for example). -
PEUGEOT 2008 Allure 1.2L 130hp AT8 - New Peugeot 2008 - Am I in Denial? 30 Mar 2024 (Forum)
So I've spent a month with my new car and I have to say I LOVE IT. The car is relatively nippy, the automatic transmission very smooth and the build quality feels fantastic. Having said that, I'm still dealing with comments like - 'what, you bought a French car? You're crazy.....' Am I simply in denial, or are reliability/quality issues still an issue with French cars. -
Can you recommend an upmarket, reliable hybrid SUV 19 Feb 2023 (Forum)
Also, comfort and looks matter. Definitely want it to be comfortable to drive, smooth over potholes etc. I prefer automatic, want high adjustable seats and don't mind a sunroof. I worry about reliability and repair costs once out of warranty. We expect to keep this vehicle for at least 5 years. I would estimate 8000 miles a year and am thinking that a hybrid would be a good choice. -

Ford Focus 2016 - Retractable Tow Bar 11 May 2021 (Forum)
Electronic automatic retractable tow bar is not working. Car is 5 years old, I've had it for 14 months and never used the tow bar. I need it in a couple of days so thought I would test it first. Saw how to do it on a youtube video and tried the same thing on mine today without success. -

a Newer car. Used. Your suggestions 30 Jan 2021 (Forum)
My budget is no more than £ 8000. Used car, but a reliable, economical main condition and an automatic, preferably Japanese. My very old diesel Volkswagen Lupo is completely unusable. And now I want a more comfortable car and a bigger one. I was thinking about a Lexus ct200h or Toyota Prius, but from the review I understud that a hybrid is more of a city car. -

Vauxhall Corsa - Retrofitted alternative for OnStar for UK 29 Jul 2020 (Forum)
The main features I am looking for are: Must work in the UK - Essential Automatic SOS calling to Emergency Services in case of an accident - Essential Location Tracking via an app on an Android device/smartphone - Essential Vehicle Diagnostics - Preferred but not essential I am not technically minded, so ideally, the device's vendor could also come out and fit it for me. -

BMW 4 Series Convertible? Any thoughts? - Manual petrol convertible for a tall driver >5 cyl 17 May 2020 (Forum)
Convertible means I can enjoy it without too many speeding tickets so a nice exhaust note would be fantastic. I don't like automatics it feels like the clutch is worn out, but could be convinced ;-) Any thoughts? I'm 6'4" 110kg. -

If you could choose one foot operated device... 16 Feb 2020 (Forum)
Now that we're heading inexorably towards a world of automatic hybrid/electric propulsion and within a few years manual gearboxes will be a distant memory... Without wanting to get into the left-foot braking debate, if you could choose one foot-operated car gadget to give the soon-to-be idle left foot something to do, what would it be? -

Ford Galaxy - Ford Galaxy OBD app 20 Aug 2019 (Forum)
Hi Folks, I have a 2003 Ford Galaxy MkII Automatic Petrol 2.3 engine. I'd like to get something that would allow me to read and reset fault codes, specifically the Gearbox Control Module, but ideally all codes. I think my two options are a bluetooth OBD device and an app like Torque Pro, or a Diagnostic scanner tool off eBay like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FAULT-CODE-READER-ENGINE-SCANNER-DIAGNOSTIC-RESET-TOOL-OBD-2-CAN-BUS-EOBD/360501633047 .
