  • Any car petrol or diesel - ECO Drive plug in module 14 Mar 2019 (Forum)
They are supposed to work any car whether it’s diesel or petrol. The blurb says: EcoDrive is a "plug and drive" device that plugs directly into your OBD2 connector. Any car built after 1996 has an OBD2 connector built into the dashboard, and it's very easy to access. Has anyone bought one of these please?
  • Any - Headlights 15 Jan 2019 (Forum)
When driving at night, there now seems to be more glare than ever before. With the new headlights being fitted there just seems to be a constant glare. This is more noticeable with cars up to 3 years old.
  • 1 series - Driving ban advice 18 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Basically I've bin caught speeding doing 94 in a 50 zone (I know I've bin an idiot, holds hands up) I already have 10 points from just over 2 years ago, so far I've just received a letter asking if it's me driving, obv I will say it was. But my questions are as follows Do I pay nearly a £1000 for a lawyer ? Is there a chance of getting a short ban as solicitors keep saying I can? How long will I be banned for?
  • How to drive safely in snow and ice 15 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Another winter driving tip: If you are using your windscreen wipers, when you come to the end of your journey remember to switch them off before you switch the ignition off. The wipers will go to their 'parked' position (front and rear wipers).

  • Renault captur 1.5 d 0n a 65 plate - clutch judder 13 Nov 2016 (Forum)
Over the last couple of weeks we've noticed the clutch snatches when pulling away, it's almost like you are dumping it as you drive off, this occures in 2nd and 3rd but to a lesser extent. It's a manual. My wife knows how to drive and use a clutch so it's not her style of driving. Anyone else had this problem? I've also noticed that the offside front wheel bearing appears to be making a noise and today the rear hatch failed to stay up when lifted.
  • Suzuki Swift - Suzuki Swift 11 Oct 2016 (Forum)
I'm considering changing my 11 plate Micra in the next few months as it's low on driving enjoyment and would like something a bit newer and more fun to drive with similar running costs. The local Nissan dealer also sells Suzukis and Hyundais and the newer shape Swift looks quite tempting and retails for about the same as a Micra.

  • suggestions - best roads for driving (Scotland) 14 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Hi,  WRT Scotland, I have only ever been to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and in November will have an opportunity of a few days in Scotland.  Would love to drive through some of the amazing scenery, stay in some lovely B&Bs,  so suggestions of routes and suggestions of B&B,s I will fly to Scotland and hire a car, so as well as route and B&B suggestions, I am also looking for suggestions alo for car hire,  clearly November will not suit a convertible - was thinking of hiring a top spec Jag XF, so a lovely "drivers car" experience is sought all round.

  • Toyota - Car Insurance Question 1 Jan 2015 (Forum)
I have comprehensive insurance on the car, with my hubby also added to the insurance.  If we get another car in my hubby's name, can I drive it as a third party driver (under my insurance) before we get insurance on the car ? Legally I can drive any car under my comprehensive insurance policy, so just wanted to check if the car itself should also be covered under insurance even if my hubby won't drive it when we bring it home for the first time ?
  • BMW 5 Series E60 - DPF 21 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Having been a very happy 520SE auto petrol owner for the last 15 years, i am looking at buying a stunning BMW 520DSE Automatic with 69k on a 60 plate which has already been serivced 3 time and looks to have done mainlly motorway driving. I am worried bout how soon I will need to replace dpf and at what cost.

important;"> Insurance   along with most car insurers, will ask prospective policyholders for their Driving Licence Numbers. Whilst driving at 25mph suddenly lost all automatic gears and car coasted to the side of the road - moving gear lever made no difference in any position - engine was still running. Turner off and tried a restart and engine would not turn over (turning key has no effect) - power ok as lights etc come on.

  • Driving Licence Categories 4 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Morning all, I am going to have to drive a Transit van next month and when casually looking at the back of my licence, I saw there was no van just car and....er...milk float. I thought something like a Transit van was in the same category as car but looking at both my Mum and Dad's licences, I notice they have a picture of a van, and a whole load of other stuff.
