  • How do you advise I drive my diesel Peugeot 2008 to avoid DPF issues? 10 Jan 2018 (Ask HJ)

  • Collective help from forum - Old friend driving dilemma Poor driving, 18 Oct 2017 (Forum)
So off he went, did it and was told that he would be hearing from them. Following week licence turned up, and has now been driving for an extra ten years. However, my personal opinion is that he frightens the daylights out of me when i am with him, and has little spatial awareness nowadays. He has driving glasses as required but does not always wear them.

  • Ford Fiesta - Battery draining 24 Jan 2022 (Forum)
Hi everyone. Really need some help with my 18 year old sons car. The battery light keeps coming on while driving, then the ABS light. He pulls over and switches the engine off and then the car will not restart to the point of no hazard lights or anything. As the battery is driving it looks like he is having a disco as the whole dash starts flashing until it is complete dead.
  • Old - TV interceptors 29 Oct 2021 (Forum)
Just sat through a programme my wife recorded.  Old Astra four youngsters driving like they stole it.   Got sufficiently ahead of the cops.  Decamped and scattered.    They managed to catch one or two but could not prove which one was driving. So all let go with no further action.
  • Any - Let the train take the strain 4 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Was chatting with a colleague the other day about driving long distances Vs taking the train and possibly hiring a car at the other end then we started talking about the Eurotunnel and how it would be good if it could go to other places not just in the UK but all over Europe, you could bord the train in Manchester with your car to London or different locations maybe with a few changes or go to Frankfurt or Milan etc, load the car up drive to the station on to a train then relax and then arrive at your destination without having to drive hundreds of miles.
  • Toyota Rav 4 two wheel drive - May I have your views please 17 May 2021 (Forum)
The search goes on for a replacement for my A4 B6 Tdi 130 I also have a Toyota Corolla Verso 2003 1.6 which I have been really surprised by. Especially the driving position and high entry and exit which I really appreciate . But neither has air con so the search goes on and I have decided my ideal replacement is a RAV 4 diesel without no 4wd , manual and above all no Dpf .

  • Any car petrol or diesel - ECO Drive plug in module 14 Mar 2019 (Forum)
They are supposed to work any car whether it’s diesel or petrol. The blurb says: EcoDrive is a "plug and drive" device that plugs directly into your OBD2 connector. Any car built after 1996 has an OBD2 connector built into the dashboard, and it's very easy to access. Has anyone bought one of these please?
  • Any - Headlights 15 Jan 2019 (Forum)
When driving at night, there now seems to be more glare than ever before. With the new headlights being fitted there just seems to be a constant glare. This is more noticeable with cars up to 3 years old.
  • 1 series - Driving ban advice 18 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Basically I've bin caught speeding doing 94 in a 50 zone (I know I've bin an idiot, holds hands up) I already have 10 points from just over 2 years ago, so far I've just received a letter asking if it's me driving, obv I will say it was. But my questions are as follows Do I pay nearly a £1000 for a lawyer ? Is there a chance of getting a short ban as solicitors keep saying I can? How long will I be banned for?
  • How to drive safely in snow and ice 15 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Another winter driving tip: If you are using your windscreen wipers, when you come to the end of your journey remember to switch them off before you switch the ignition off. The wipers will go to their 'parked' position (front and rear wipers).

  • Renault captur 1.5 d 0n a 65 plate - clutch judder 13 Nov 2016 (Forum)
Over the last couple of weeks we've noticed the clutch snatches when pulling away, it's almost like you are dumping it as you drive off, this occures in 2nd and 3rd but to a lesser extent. It's a manual. My wife knows how to drive and use a clutch so it's not her style of driving. Anyone else had this problem? I've also noticed that the offside front wheel bearing appears to be making a noise and today the rear hatch failed to stay up when lifted.
  • Suzuki Swift - Suzuki Swift 11 Oct 2016 (Forum)
I'm considering changing my 11 plate Micra in the next few months as it's low on driving enjoyment and would like something a bit newer and more fun to drive with similar running costs. The local Nissan dealer also sells Suzukis and Hyundais and the newer shape Swift looks quite tempting and retails for about the same as a Micra.
