  So, what remedy can I use to stop it. I'm sure there's a potion/concoction suitable that will not lead to be grease stains on the glass, nor melt the rubber. :)

  It still turns over but doesnt spark up!!!! My 1st thoughts were the Plugs,rotor arm or mabe the ignition coil,so have changed the plugs, leads rotor arm and ignition coil.......but still no joy!!! Any ideas??? Thanks maverick36

  hello there i have a mk2 1.3 91' Golf and its misfiring after 5 seconds of starting i've replaced the following; coil, plugs, HT Leads,Dizzy Cap, rotor arm exhaust manifold gasket, but to no avail apart from a good spark, she's misfiring for some reason i havent come across before and i need some advice/ideas/experiance pronto if you could spare some time, pretty please

  Hi im having a problems with my 92 1100cc Metro carb run. Iv replaced the carb with a 2nd hand 1 and replaced the fuel pump, plugs and leads. all the hoses goin in and out of the carcoal canister are all clear and now im stuck and dont know what to try next. Does any1 know of any command faults or suggest something i can try next. Thank you for any help giving dave

  The attached is an intresting article on the quality of brakes and fluid recently inspected. www.carpages.co.uk/news/brakes-09-11-06.asp It does lead me to ask a question though. I did have a saab once where the dealer stated 'dirty brake fluid' on the service schedule sheet. The fluid was 12 months old. Does dirty brake fluid actually reduce it's effectiveness ?

  Hi all, I am after a good independant Vauxhall specialist in the Hounslow / Heathrow area for a friend's '98 Corsa (Engine management light). I think it's either cam/crank position sensor, MAF sensor or plugs/leads - car cuts out occasionaly, can be hesitant. Need someone to read the CEL codes (he is on a shoestring budget - too low for poke and hope - and main dealers!!) Thanks in advance!

  hi i have a 94 model astra 1.4 hi torque engine, i have this intermittent fault, just yesterday and today whilst stationary at the lights the car cut out, it was idling fine, after a few turns it started. I already got the distributor changed, new plugs, new ht leads, i wolud think it may be the rotor arm may need changing anyone got any ideas ?? thanks

  Over the week end I washed under the bonet of the car, started playing up this morning, slight mis-fire. Tonight I took out the HT lead and spark plug and dried and cleaned the plug, engine is now running fine but the light is still on. Is there a way I can turn off with out taking to a garage ?

  The problem is more pronounced at high speeds (50mph+). I have replaced the rotor arm, dist. cap, HT leads and spark plugs but the problem is still there. Has anyone else experienced this or able to suggest what else I might look at? Thanks, Paul.

  Circulating just now are drafts of policies to reduce the number of people prosecuted currently "for a wide range of offences" that may in future be handled with a caution or other process. The document contains amongst others Road Traffic Offences - will this lead to better / safer roads or the road to ruin?   A friend's company is offering by sealed bid a 99 Mondeo LX (AC) estate, with 250,000 miles, one driver from new, who has been on the motorway most of the time. Minor scrape along the leading edge of the bonnet, but near perfect in/out. It'd suit me fine, as I do lowish miles, but need a bigger vehicle for work and play. What's it worth?

  Could anybody tell me exactly were the inlet air tempreature sensor is on a 1.2 2001 Clio 16v? Ive been told that its at the back of the air filter housing but theres a few clips and leads there.Im almost a mechanical virgin so please help.If a clio doesnt have a IAT were is the coolant tempreature sensor? • Help - Alloy Wheels - Wheel balancing 1 Jan 2005 (Forum)
  :) My sister has recently bought a Ford Mondeo 1998 Ghia. The car has alloy wheels and three have lead weights on for balancing - two front tyres and one rear tyre. My question is - do alloys need wheel balancing weights? (If yes, why?) My Mondeo Ghia - bought new has not got any I noticed - drives fine.

  SWMBO is trading up her 1 litre Yaris which she loved but found a little underpowered for the 1.3 litre version which she picks up tomorrow. I had assumed that the tax would be the same but can anyone tell me the correct rate please? Leading on from that I realised I have no idea how they work out the rates these days or how you can check before buying.How is it assessed? Is there an easy guide?

  The air flow meter metal tube[with socket which connects to plug]seems to be causing car to appear to stall/loose power momentarily.Whether the plug is connected or not.I have tried 2 second hand replacements with no luck. With the plug in place car seems to idle nicely eg brmm brumm brumm. With the lead connected Brumm Brumm Brumm.How else can I explain it? Suggestions? thanks.

  Today's GP was rather more interesting than others of late, possibly because Mr S......... didn't lead from start to finish. Did any one else find it ironic that the cars, which in road use are reckoned to be extremely reliable, ie Toyota and Honda, blow up regularly; while the Renault which for normal motoring does not have a good reputation for reliability (Sorry RF) just keeps going!
