Honda FR-V - Honda FRV clutch? issue 17 Aug 2021 (Forum)
Obviously I’m tempted to just keep driving it but I need to do a longer journey soon….can anyone suggest why it’s stopped having the issue or maybe a different theory on what was happening before? Thanks in advance -
BMW 4 Series - Dvla medical 3 Aug 2021 (Forum)
I wrote to relicense st the beginning of June as they advised, Of course now it appears there is no chance I’ll get my license back at the beginning of august. I do note that if you have surrendered your license then you can drive during this period but not if it’s revoked. Even though my doctor is happy for me to drive as I’ve never had a seizure while awake I find the whole situation very very unfair and deeply frustrating. -
Renault Clio - Engine fell out of my Clio 25 Jun 2021 (Forum)
Hi all, I don’t know much about cars so I’m looking for some advice... I was driving my 2008 Clio today when there was a huge crunching noise and I lost steering. Turns out that the drive shaft has broken and the engine has fallen out- the mechanic did tell me about some bolts that have busted which were holding it in place. -
Honda Jazz IMA - Is this a good buy? 24 Feb 2021 (Forum)
My daughter wants to replace her elderly Jazz Mk1 and I’ve come across a high mileage Jazz IMA which I’m considering. Normally I’d run a mile from a. a very high mileage car and b.a driving instructor’s car. However- this is a 65 plate and has FSH serviced by Honda every 12, 500 miles and CVT fluid changed as per schedule and it’s not a pool driving school car, he’s a one man band and the car is apparently immaculate. -
any - best website to look for a new car 29 Nov 2020 (Forum)
I know my millage at around 10k puts me in petrol territory i've never had a problem with past diesel cars as they always get a good regular run as we live near a fast moving duel carriageway and are always driving along it to get anywhere from where we live. not sure on what car yes as undecided but to date in the 16 years i've been driving I've never bought a lemon. (goes off and toces wood) -
Ford Fiesta - Battery Charging for seldom used vehicle 7 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Hi All, Hopefully not too dumb a question.... My elderly father (82) occasionally needs to drive his vehicle, and because he tries to stay at home during these times, it means that he does not use his car as much as he used to do. Unsurprisingly then, this morning - given it was cold as well - it would not start, and the AA diagnosed the battery as being flat. -
Any - Missing Data 4 Dec 2019 (Forum)
I also understand that cabin noise will be affected by factors such as road surface, tyre compound and wear, etc., but surely these should be able to be standardised in a test-track evaluation. I would suggest that a comfortable driving seat and a quiet ambient noise level in the cabin both contribute not just to a more pleasant, but also a safer, environment. Does anyone compile and publish this information? -

Ford Focus MK2 - Timing belt - to change or not change? 11 Sep 2018 (Forum)
I bought the car April 2017 when it had 47,500 miles on the clock so am wondering if the timing belt will need done? The vast majority of my driving is motorway driving so shouldnt have done too much to the. At this moment in time I am unaware of the condition of my timing belt (will have a look) but think its in decent condition as when my MOT was done in March this year there was no mention of it looking worn etc. -

Not important - deaf driver ?? 15 Aug 2018 (Forum)
5 .. he did not indicate, depsite turning across the path of oncoming traffic. I am convinced he is deaf, and as such should he even be driving at all ? I think had he not lost his bumper he would not have even known there had been a collision. -
Ford Focus - Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI Bad MPG Fuel consumption 5 Aug 2018 (Forum)
I had this car since March 2018, always passed MOT, always serviced regularly (according to the service history) but I was expecting some better economy for such a small diesel engine. It's not a very powerful car and I always drive smoothly avoiding harsh accelleration or speeding up much but the best economy I got out of it was 38 mpg on a motorway only trip. Otherwise with my normal driving which is a mix of motrway and city I get around 35 mpg. -

Bus drivers 26 Feb 2018 (Forum)
Also, and i don't know what company you were travelling with, and what their particular setup was, but with stagecoach it wasn't unusual to have buses from other depots on loan, buses which would not be familiar to the driver. Having said that, thert are also lots of drivers who don't care how they drive and would make no effort to drive smoothly. Bear in mind that most bus drivers don't get paid, or treated well by their employers, so staff turnover is high, which in turn means a higher than average chance of an inexperienced driver who has only just finished training!. -
What car to buy my mum? 15 Jan 2018 (Forum)
My mum (aged 73) has been driving a 2.0 litre Ford Focus for the past 10 years. It keeps breaking down and costing her lots of money to fix. I’m going to buy her a replacement and have a budget of £6k. She’s adamant she doesn’t want a ‘granny car’, such as a VW Up, so I’m considering a supermini - e.g. -
City rover solo 2006 - city rover 2006 any good? 30 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Hello, One of my grandparents friends are giving up driving and they have a 2006 city rover with 36000 miles on the clock. Car seems really clean and not given them much trouble over the years. I was wondering for the very small amount they want for the car is it worth a chance? -
1998 1.6 automatic vw polo - 1998 vwpolo automatic cutting out and low revs. 20 Mar 2017 (Forum)
This morning I just cleaned the throttle body and put a new distributer cap and Roter arm and airfilter on it as it was having a problem with starting cold and low revs on idle. ( I left the battery terminals off for an hour and held down the break to reset the ecu after cleaning throttle body) After changing all of these out I took it for a 10minute drive, after 10minutes it started joulting then it wouldn't accelerate and died. I then had to wait a few minutes before it would start again then I could drive a little way but after acceleration a few times it would start to judder and proceed to cut out. -

" So does my wife need to notify our current insurer (Direct Line) that she would be driving a rental car? Sorry for the dumb question, but we've only had rental cars as courtesy vehicles before when ours have been at dealers etc, rather than renting one in addition to our existing cars. -
