s renowned high-mpg promise: with 48.7mpg overall, it?s the best of both worlds, all from £21,430. Cons: If you find the Sport noisy ? the standard £19,430 model has a quieter ride. Tiscali verdict: 8/10 -------------------------- 4.

I come from southern England and just experienced something that?s really wound me up. About 2 months ago I had my car parked in front of a friend?s car out side my mum and dads house. To give a vague idea, its a long street with speed humps, residents cars parked up both sides with a road that?

  • Jaguar S-Type - Dealer says "no warranty, you take a chance". 28 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I know that at the cheaper end of the scale the SOGA becomes a grey area for cars like this but still, if an otherwise good dealer is denying his responsibilities like that, who needs that kind of stress? Or am I daft. The car is a 2003 3.0 S-Type at £2500.
  • I love my S-Max but.... 29 Oct 2012 (Forum)
So,  would you change; would you consider a Prius+. I think I know the answer (and it will be to keep the S-Max), but assuming you could afford to do it - would you?
  • Ford S-MAX - Need to buy an MPV. High mileage? 18 Sep 2012 (Forum)
A bonus is the back seats can be used, albeit tightly, by an adult. 2. Ford S-Max Titanium 2.0 turbo diesel, 09 plate, 100,000 miles, around £9,000 - slightly more expensive to run but not to bad, no warranty but ful service history as ex-lease. Back seats are tighter than the Renault's but the middle row has more room.

  • Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 98 1.6 snapped spring and creaking noise. 25 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Also the noise is also apparent when turning the wheels with the front of the car on axle stands. The noise appears to be comming from the o/s, this afternoon I was replacing the nearside wishbone and found that the n/s spring has snapped up near the top. Everything on the o/s seems to be fine. So questions. 1) Could the creaking noise be because the o/s spring is taking extra weight?
  • S-Max vs Honda FRV 12 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I think an auto one would work well, but of course Honda don't do diesel auto's. Has anybody driven both cars? i also wonder if the S-Max would cope with 6 adults for an hours journey?
  • Ford S-Max ignition fault 23 Oct 2006 (Forum)
This clears if you shut the engine off and start it again. I just wonder if any other S-Max drivers have found the same fault and whether their dealer was able to remedy it? Ford are aware of the issue, allegedly, but have not come up with a solution - so until they do their line is 'if you start the car according to the Handbook it will start without problem'.
  • power loss - Merc C240 7 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Car - Merc C240, 91,000 miles. 1998 vintage, automatic 5-speed. Problem: Round town or city, the car is fine. But on the motorway or dual carriageway it\'s a different story. It will cruise along at 70 fine, no problems, but when I start to overtake it\'s not very energetic. It will change down, and accelerate, but once you hit 4,500 rpm, it runs out of steam.
  • Nostalgia 17 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Two particular vehicles often come to mind when I'm in reflective mood: 1 A 3 wheeler wooden van of 40's - 50's vintage. The van had a single wheel at the front located on motorcycle front forks. The forks passed through the vans wooden body, and I assume the controls were of the motorcycle type. This vehicle delivered a crate of beer to my grandparents each week in the early 50's, and I was aways mesmerised by it.

  • Over 70's driving licence renewal-question 23 Jun 2021 (Forum)
I have successfully applied on line for a renewal of my over 70's licence and received an e-mail confirming receipt of the application. Fine. Let's see how long it takes given the current climate. There was an instruction in the on line application process to now cut up my old licence and return it to Swansea.
