  I have attributed this to the "limp home mode" but dont know the cause of the problem. Does anyone know of anything I can try before resorting to having saab run a diagnostic check? My car is the 2.2 diesel from 2000. Cheers Subject line tweak

  I drove up from Ashford this morning, Everything was running smoothly. All was well with the world... Then i hit the m25 heading down to the dartford tunnel. In the distance i could see brake lights and cars veering out of the way of.....A NUMPTY REVERSING UP THE INSIDE LANE BECAUSE HE`D MISSED THE JUNCTION FOR THE A2!

  My daughter has a PCP, it's been running for 16 months out of 36, and she's just on the good (lower) side of the target mileage at 18K. Now she's considering getting rid of the high fixed costs it represents, but is there a good way to get out of PCP's?

  They had no explanation as to why it had been rechipped to give only 90 as against 110bhp which is its usual power output in other models in the Citroen/Peugot range. Is this actually a run-out sales deal from Peugot in advance of a new model??

  It is going to have to be capable of long journeys as 2 are at uni in Scotland. On top of that safety and running costs are important priorities. My initial thought was for a 5 door Fiesta 1.25 zetec with climate but would be v grateful for other suggestions. I anticipate keeping the car for around 3 years with a total mileage of up to 60k.

  We're considering (only considering) buying a house which has a road running past the bottom fence. At the edge of the road is a layby (which might at one time have been a bus stop) and at the moment there are two cars for sale on it. We're concerned that this practice might cause a nuisance.

  Its got 157K on the clock, but looks more like 57K. Is this likely to be a good buy? Anyone any experience in running these??? MPG?? Your comments on the Patrol please. HJs usually very indepth car-by-car breakdown doesn't really list any negatives!!

  i have just bought a saab 900 1997 and mostly for 600 quid is very good however i do have a few small problems........the engine idles roughly seems to speed up and then slow down not by much probably 50 to 100 rpm if i touch the accelerator pedal slighty it runs sweet. secondly the SRS warning light on the dash is on constantly. and last of all the warning triangle with ! inside it on the dash is lit? any ideas?

  I posted this request yesterday but it seems to have been deleted My Toyota estima import sometimes on first starting makes clunking noises until it finally starts then whitish smoke until it burns off (FUEL?) The car runs great ,and will stat every time without problem until it has sat overnight, no oil or overheating problems. Sometimes when I require more power the Engine warning light comes on then goes off again, Anyone have any ideas?

  Part of new Offering to Shell Card Holders is Free Car Legal Cover - I pay nearly £20 for each car so this represents £40 saving - not a lot in running a car but a "fill-up for nothing" beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.   My daughters Clio bought a few days ago is giving trouble. After an hours run and a short stop the engine will restart but will not respond to the accelerator and the engine management warning light is on.. Her boyfriend has had the car plugged into a fault diagnosis machine and 2 faults showed up: the cat sensor(?)

  Took it to put some petrol in, started putting diesel in it (normally drive a vRS Fabia). Only 77p, which I've watered down with 37 quid's worth of unleaded. It seems to be running OK, and the cashier said she's never seen anyone so relaxed about having done it. Wouldn't have been so relaxed if I'd put petrol in the Fabia...

  hi everyone can anyone give me some advice on my mk2 98 mondeo it is misfiring in idle and generally at or below 1500rpm with poor mpg around town but still 45 - 50 mpg on a run we have changed the plugs ht leads and coil pack but still no joy, it was also up on co in mot. have been told a possible vacuum leak but how do you check this? we have also checked the maff but thats fine. thanks everyone

  hello, i have the above van, it has 108k on the clock and service history. i have just had it serviced and was told that the mayo/ ceamy paste in the oil cap and the small deposits on the dip stick is a sure sign of head gasket problems. is this so and what other ways is there of telling the head gasket is on its way. the van runs and starts fine with no other problems(i hope/think) any advice would be appreciated... cheers

  Sometimes it will start on the first turn but often it may take five or ten minutes of constant turning on and off before it fires up. Once going, the engine runs very well with no noises or misfiring. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  I've seen couple of good Golf TDis 97/98 models with a mileage of around 100k. My main priorities are, it has to be cheap to run, reliable and fairly comfortable for motorways because I'll be doing around 80 miles in a day. What shall I look out for when inspecting a Golf TDI?

  I'm considering one for mostly one-up journeys because (a) I know I fit comfortably in the Focus and (b) the running costs and BIK rates look favourable. I've not driven a diesel one, though, so I'd be interested to know how other people find it, or if there's something else I should look at in that size and price range.

  Please Help, I just bought a SH ford Focus,and was trying to top off the screen washer but instead,It was very stupid of me tonight ,did top of the power steering fluid with water and to make matters worse i did run he engine. Can you please let me know of the long/short term effect of this stupid mistake bearing in mind that I carry my child in the car. Thanking yo all in advance
