306 rough idle and smoke 26 Sep 2005 (Forum)
hi now ive finally got the 306 dt to start again it idles very rough and pushes out lots of white smoke, also when idleing the fuel primer has no pressure in it at all it's just soft and no pressure will build in it by pumping, does this indicate an air leak if so where is the likely source? i didn't replace the o ring on the fuel filter housing so im suspecting this is the fualt? -
no car week 8 Jul 2004 (Forum)
We are as motorists taking a bashing from politicians with ever increasing fuel prices speed cameras etc. It seems to be their aim in life to get us off the roads. I suggest a no car week and the whole country uses our public transport system. I would arrive at work just in time to go home and save all that money on fuel and parking etc. -

Vw golf gt tdi 2.0 140bhp 2008 - fuel temp sensor issue 11 Jul 2023 (Forum)
The glow plug light came on really briefly the other day whilst driving but was only on for a matter of seconds and went back off and hasn't come back on since. So I've had it in garage today on the diagnostics and it threw a fault code out for the fuel temperature sensor. I got the new sensor straight away, took it back to garage, they replaced it, took it for a run but was still doing it. Back on diagnostics and code had gone. Got told to give it a good run but it's still doing it. -

Average miles per annum car - Why so much attention paid to fuel consumption? 7 Oct 2018 (Forum)
I cannot understand why fuel consumption figures feature so much here, especially if retired and only driving a few thousand miles a year. If petrol is £6 per gallon and you do 40mpg, that's 15p per mile. But if you have a less desirable but more economical car which does 50mpg, that's 12p per mile, a saving of 3p per mile. -

peugeot 306 hdi dt (99) - fuel problem, starting and running 4 Jun 2015 (Forum)
If i disconnect the battery and leave it for a period of time say 24hrs, it seems to reset itself and run as normal and like its old self. then 30mins into the journey or the next time i start it any of the above problems might surface. To date i"ve tried changing the fuel filter, changed the lifter pump in the tank, cracked my injector pipes to see if there working, they are. checked the timing, all good, plugged it into a computer, the reading came back that " the fuel pump relay was malfunctioning".
