  Going forward a few years, had the question been posed then, maybe worth bearing in mind that if that had been a this current years electric car, in all probability at 9 years old then it would have been looking at vast expence of replacing batteries! Just a thought from a guy with a few pre '85 W123 Mercs.

  Hi been along time since I brought a ford lol First  car is second hand  Came with one key fob and the small key that fits inside . The key fob battery  Requird which I did but I think I lost the  little  spring hence I lost the key Car works starts etc but I need a new key ?? any ideas please cheap would be good There was no key number on the fob either would appreciate any advice  ??

  We then progressed to the code P1A9C.  A quick Google told him that it related to the accumulator battery and stop-start system - two devices not even fitted to his car.

  I don’t think I could live with this palaver, how would you go about a long trip? I don!t know the real distance between charging needed but I can imagine running out of battery in the middle of nowhere on a cold January night.

  I want to buy a trickle charger. From reviews, a CTEK charger, due to my stop start failing to come on. Jaguar service said the battery condition is not up to it's optimum state due to my low mileage use each month. It does sit on my drive for days sometimes. My question is that I have and not sure if the MXS 7 is the correct one for my car or the MXS 10.

  Can anyone advise please, the  Ford Fiesta in question has a Ford 6000 CD built in radio unit which is fully functional. However as everyone knows when the battery is changed the radio code will most likely need to be re entered. My question is  there a method to ascertain the existing radio code from the display of a functioning Ford 6000 CD radio ?

  Slowed down at roundabout, car lost power then picked up again. Did this a couple of times more and then stopped and wouldn't start again. Plenty of power in battery but wouldn't fire up, RAC called out but they couldn't find the fault so towed to local garage.  Had ignition on for tow and speedo needle and rev counter flicking to extremes (don't think I was being towed at 110mph!!)

  Good day   I have a 1.6 Ford focus mk 2. The battery was removed and I don't have the radio code nor the radio removal pins.   I read a few comments suggesting I try holding down 1 and 6 (this just comes up with a zero, as though I'm entering a digit) I also tried 1 and 5 as well as 2 and 5, but with 5 being the code confirmation key it accepts the attempts as code inputs.

  The IEEE Spectrum On-line has an article about the Morgan EV which is a three wheeler, likie the original, but with an electric motor and battery instead of the vee twin engine with visible valve springs.   The article says that the motor is 'rear mounted'.   I wonder if the purists will regret the passing of the long chain that seemed to break at the most inconvenient time.

  I have also read that these sensors have a life expectancy of 5 - 7 years due to the internal battery not being replaceable.  I could only find one price for replacement sensors in a quick search and this was £99 per sensor. Does this mean a tyre change after 5yrs will have an additional £400 sensor change added to the bill !

  Took a Tourer for a test drive and the brake did not activate on a downhill when i released the clutch. Also on flat. I must admit the battery was totally dead and needed jumping to get going. Jumping at fuel station and after a stall. Had a few warning lights most of journey. I imagine the Alternator could not keep up with the Electrical system demands.

   I recently put the battery the wrong way on a ford focus tdci 2006 .. 2l .when I noticed my alternator was not working anymore so I replaced the altonator its now charging but still the charging light is still on I've tested if its charging and it is 2ndly it no has an engine check light and my power steering is no longer working.I checked it on the computer it says lost communication with the power steering module and also its saying lost communication with glow plug circuit but its starting and no glow plug light is on

  Hi all Have had a new battery fitted and new alternator but the car would not start today. I gave the starter motor a prod and hey presto it started so I'm guessing their lies the problem. How easy is it to take the starter motor out of a Rover 45 and is it best to replace it with one from a scrapyard as I hear they are very expensive when new?

  i am having issues with my Audi, put key in to start vehicle, turn key and the car /key symbol on dash keeps flashing, and does not go out, engine starts for a few seconds and then cuts out, and the hazard flashers come on and the only way to stop them is to take a battery lead off to disconnect, does anyone have an idea whats causing this and how i can sort it    thank you for your time

  Took the car to a diagnostic garage and they ran tests and reset the dpf but noted that the glow plugs stay on and do not switch off. Car is permanently in limp mode and smokes like hell. Tried to disconnect the battery to reboot the system but to no avail. Garage says they will have to remap the software and will cost about 400 is there a cheaper alternative.   
• Citroen C2 (2003 - ) - yr 2003 - VTR - semi automatic gearbox Problems 20 Aug 2015 (Forum)
  It has developed an odd problem where it jams in 5th gear and hence cannot be driven. To recover it is necessary to disconnect the battery, short out the positive connector (apparantly to reset the management system) and then reconnect. The gearbox can then be heard trying to sort out a gear. The gearbox software has been upgraded. Has anyone else suffered from this problem?

  After 10 miles tyre pressure monitoring system light on checked at nearest pitstop 5psi down noticed valves corroded.. 15 miles later Battery warning light on... Noticed hole drilled into centre of one of the switches.. Reversing sensors working intermittently..   Car being collected monday

  Hi       I left my car standing for about two weeks without starting it.   When  come to start it the battery was dead. I had to bump start it.  Once  done that and it was running the engine is now making a really loud tapping noise.  Ihave up some magnictec 10/30 in it as was thinking it low on oil but the noise is still happening.

  Hi Honest john Please help i have an opel Astra 2006 1.6 and recently it started giving me problems when i start the engine and i thought it was the battery and i replaced it and for two weeks everything was fine,now it started again and i took it to the work shoop they told me i used the wrong fuel of which its impossible as i am the only driver.and it again flashes the exhaust light.What could be the problem.
