  Hi, After a protracted search we decided to proceed with buying a seat Alhambra (2018, S trim) as our new family car (see previous posts). We had an inspection carried out on it but didn’t try driving it with all the kids in so never tried the middle seat belt. Got it home and went to put in the car seats and found the middle seat belt (which feeds from the roof) is covered in mould.

  l know it's a case of test driving however, l would be interested in peoples opinion. The SX4 S-Cross is a car, on paper, l like. It's not full of technology & seems to have a overall good reputation. Like others, these days l'm not willing to shell out too much on a car & want to keep things relatively simple. l don't want the complications of the Allgrip 4 wheel drive in the later 1.4, so that leaves the older N/A 1.6 & the 1 litre Boosterjet.

   In the 1990's I ran a recovery business, During this time a recovered three Mercs  which had collapsed front suspension due the bottom wishbone failing. I discovered  that some Merc components were manufactured is South Africa and some in Europe.

    As far as looks and gadgets go the smax is much nicer and better looking, I'm not keen on the looks of the 5008's back end at all. I'm also looking for the 2.0litre diesel engine but am struggling to find a 5008 in a 2.0litre engine. I'm torn between the two as although my heart is set on an smax they are so expensive compared to the 5008.

  Wonder if anyone has some experience with the problem I'm having and provide the best place to look for faults that may be causing this. Have a 2003 Seat Leon S 1.6 16v petrol, which won't regularly won't start. Seems worse on wet/damp days. Put in the key and a horrible whining starts coming from the engine. Turn the key to turn the engine and it just goes but doesn't fire up.

  I recently took my car for a service to local main ford dealer I explained I had a problem with the front brakes the n/s seemed to be binding. I collected the car and was told the fault was due to brake dust, the problem never improved and when I checked on the internet sticking calipers seems to be a common problem.
