Cheap Car Vs New Lease 22 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Howeever, the downside to the Logan deal is the mileage is capped at 6,000 miles per year and he will not be able to service the car himself, it must go to a Dacia dealer although servicing costs are reasonable. The focus/astra would also require MOTs and are more expensive to tax and insure. Does anyone have any thoughts on his conclusion that leasing is cheaper than buying a low value car? -

Hyundai i20 - Hyundai Warranty 12 Jan 2016 (Forum)
In September 2015 we bought an i20 from Bristol Street Motors in Nottingham. We got a good deal and we were pleased with the car initially. During the last couple of months however the air conditioning has been gradually failing. Reassured by their 5 year warranty we booked the car in to have it checked. The car has been service by Hyundai from purchase so was not expecting issues. -

I booked the car into the dealer for an oil and filter change as i want a change every 10-12 k as I plan on keeping the car long term. -

Ford Mondeo - Mondeo/Vectra 2005 - petrol or diesel? 24 Jan 2014 (Forum)
The old faithful s-reg Mondeo petrol estate is still running like a swiss watch, but the rust and tyre situation probably means that funds to nurse it through the Mot would be better spent elsewhere. we are usually short runs (10 miles return) with occasional big trips, but like the comfort of a car Mondeo/Vectra sized - hatchback slightly preferable for the supermarket car park. :-) . -

Ford C Max 1.8 TDCI - Turbocharger failure 9 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Our C max is a 58 reg and had done just under 24000 miles when the turbocharger failed. The car was out of warranty so we had to pay the £1300 + for repairs. We have contacted Ford and asked why this should have failed and the cause of the failure on a car with such low millage and and not very old. -
triumph america. - bike road tax??????? 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I have just emailed the DVLA asking them to justify my £74 vehicle tax against my £30 car vehicle tax. I am confused we are in a world of being green and less polution so the government is rewarding people that buy green cars by pay less road tax. My car produces 119 grms so the tax is £30 a year, it averages just over 52 mpg. -
Ford Fiesta 1.25 - Servicing 18 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Car is coming up to 3 years old with 21k miles so needs MOT and service to comply with Ford warranty. Is it essential (or advisable) to use a Ford main dealer especially as the 3 year warranty is due to expire. -
Never a better time to buy (if you have the money) 4 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Looking back through some records the other day we realised that its never been as cheap to buy a used or new car. Yout typical 2 year old car (Avensis in this case) has dropped about £3000 since March, simlair price drops on Corolla and about £2000 ish for a Yaris, Landcrusiers are off the scale. The intersting thing is though the older cars have not dropped as much so any PX wont have taken as much of a pasting. -
Ungrateful children.... 7 Jul 2008 (Forum)
A few weeks ago I posted that a friend of mine had asked me to source a car for her daughter who had just passed her test. Max budget £1k. Several cars I looked at were not as described, but I found a lovely T plate Micra, owned by the same family since new. Perfect. Guess what...Micras are not cool because the little old lady over the road owns one! -
Both cars stolen last night - Vol 2 12 Jan 2008 (Forum)
-i say broken into - what actually happened was that he heard a noise outside, opened the door and got rushed - obviosuly a mistake but it shows how alarms, panick buttons, window locks suddenly become totally irrelevent. i can only think the safest way is to drive either old or non-flash cars - there does seem quite a bit of this in manchester area recently -
Watch out - Workmen about 31 May 2007 (Forum)
Just had a note from my youngest boy - less than 1 yr old car parked at work on Friday - car park next door being relaid (unknown to him as he gets in at 7 am). Due to high winds the "grit and pink fluffy dice " form the relay has covered his and 20 other cars. -
How to get a new car for £134.19 4 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Perhaps if it wasn't taught & rattle free the effect would be less, but having had the steering wheel (rim and spokes element only) replaced today as a result of leather delamination, I was amazed what holding dimpled new leather with pristine stitching and unworn thumb recesses did for our three and a half year old, owned from new, V70. It brought memories of collection day in Breda flooding back. You get that nice, tactile, feel of a new car together with the smell (open the door and "new car" rushes out to your nostrils) and the interior look (if like our V70 the rest of the interior is spotless anyway)!
