  Doesn't appear to move when u look at it but I can feel it with my foot. Only other way I can describe it is when my old Vectra had ABS problems and I pressed the brake peddle it used to judder as the brakes came on/off. It's like that but only a slight movement. Don't know what it is ut would like to know If I'm making any sense pls let me know, if not shoot me and I'll get a bus-pass instead.

  MoT time came round recently and I found myself at the test station in a pit with the tester looking at the Synergie's brake disks. The Lucas brakes have a single piston in a floating caliper. The rods on which the caliper floats are shiny, greased and protected by intact gaiters, and the caliper can be moved easily when the pads are withdrawn.

  I have a 18 month old Ford Ka and the engine has started to accelerate unexpectedly. When I brake to walking pace and then change down to second, on releasing the clutch the car accelerates away. I have to keep my foot on the brake when in a 30 zone to avoid speeding. Also when I press the clutch in fully, at red lights say, the engine revs getting me some funny looks.

  Some time ago, I asked if backroomers had experienced a squawk from under the bonnet (when starting off, after braking sharply, or latterly when going over a bump). The suggestions of incorrect belt tension and worn bearings proved negative. Recently the car started pulling badly to the left on braking and sometimes there was evidence of a spasmodically binding disc.

  I was in the Omega(auto) doing around 50mph at the "top" and it started to gather speed fairly quickly, even in a manual car you'd have to use the brakes or shift down, not to exceed 80+'ish at the bottom. (Though the roundabout there helps prevents this too!) How would a modern cruise control system cope with conditions like this (assuming you don't disengage it) - AFAIK it's not connected to the braking system so would it just let the car gather excess speed?

  Fiat tipo turbo diesel 1991 Recently had brake pipes renewed as well as front caliper on off side. However I still have this problem after driving for approx 15 mins a screeching noise appears to come from the offside front wheel. This seems to only happen when the steering is slightly turned, when I apply the brakes the noise stops until I release them.

  Took my car to a nationwide fast fit place for them to check the brakes and tracking yesterday.(The one with the dancing fitters from a few years back) Nothing wrong with the brakes but the fitter pointed out a nail in one the rear tyres, which was also a bit low on tread.

  I have a friend who when parking the car turns the ignition off before the car has stopped. He then stops the car normally with the brakes for the last couple of feet. Would this cause any damage?
