  today i found this website and being a lady driver was really abit worried about taking my car to the garage here was the problem FLAT BATTERY ON MY DEISAL  1.9  SPEEDOMETOER STOPPED FUNCTIONING  AND BREAK CABLES WERE LOOSE FOUND THIS SITE AND DID EVERY THING MYSELF 15MINUTES TOPS SO THANKS FOR THIS WEBSITE HAS PROBERBLY  SAVED ME POUNDS  BRILLIANT SITE AND THANKS AGAIN FOR THE IMFORMATION

  I turned off my sat nav whilst engine was off When i tured sat nav back on the radio has lost the restore to new stations. Also after a long run battery reads 12.7 but after 1 hour this is down to 12.2 Ihave checked removing all fuses but cannot find discharge. I gather american cars do this

  Please please please help. I have recently changed the battery on my 2004 Ford focus and tried to put the four digit code in to my radio that is in my hand book but it fails to recognise it so I removed the radio to discover the radio is from 2009 and is obviously not original radio the number on the back of this radio is as follows M 526409 is there anybody out there who can tell me the code for this radio many thanks Hatter

  Battery replaced.  Radio calling for code.  4 digit code (3195) entered using key 1 x 3, key 2 x 1, Key 3 x 9 etc, 3195 displayed, pressed * button...nothing happened...what am I doing wrong.

  Couple of weeks later and it wont lock at all, be it with the fob or just using the key. I tried my other fob just in case it was a problem with the battery and still got the same problem. Any ideas what it could be? And rough costs?

  Car is approaching 3 years old and with the cold weather the crank is quite slow to the point that I am thinking about replacing the battery, but they last longer than that don't they? Which makes me think it could be charging system (though lights are fine) or starter motor, both of which are under warrantee. Any thoughts please?

  Turns over  but also note intruments (speedo and rev counter) bottom out while cranking engine. No eng lights - battery voltage 13.5 static and tried both keys. Can you advise please.

  Scanner code comes up with "106" which is an ECU fault apparantly. I've checked all fuses and they are fine. I've also disconnected the battery to see if that resets anything overnight. Any thoughts on what else it could be or how much to fix if I need a new steering column (with electric power steering motor)?

  picture the scenario,friday evening rush hour,motorway tailback, serious stop start traffic for in excess of an hour,how does a vehicle with stop/start cope with the constant re-starting of the engine,without the battery becoming drained,thus rendering your car immobile in the middle lane,the reason i ask is i was behind a 61 plate kia sportage in stop/start and it seemed to be struggling after about 35minutes of stop/start traffic

  Elect windows wont work, both stopped at the same time as i was lowering both of them , (Blown fue) ? ckecked the 10A fuse inside the car and the 30A fuse in engine bay both OK. hard wired from battery to drivers door window switch, everything working fine. are ther any other fuses circuit breakers in the power supply? Or any other ideas as to cause of fault.

  Although when cold my astravan will start ,after a run it will only start after 30-40 secs cranking which cant be good for the starter or battery. I have added a fuel sytem cleaner and changed the crank sensor to no avail. Its as if it needs to self bleed but not to bad on initial start up. any thoughts.. thank Big Kev

  Occasionally 3 times in the last 12 months turning the key does nothing even though the dash indicates neutral is selected. My work around is to disconnect a battery terminal for a few seconds then reconnect. This seems to reboot the computer and the car starts ok. Any ideas as to how to cure this?

  Has any one fitted a tow bar to a Lexus 400h. I always understood that because of the drive motors and battery it was not possible to do this but my Lexus dealer tells me that it is possible to do.  Has any one fitted one and what did it cost, what is the 400h like to tow with as I have a 16 foot caravan.

  It has issues starting whereby if it is left to cool down, it takes some churning to allow it to start. The battery and starter motor are both in order, and I am wondering what might be causing this and the steps I should engage in trying to rectify this fault. Best regards Greg

  Hi, Hope someone can help? My clio has decided not to respond to the remote. I have changed the battery in the remote and tried the second key. Nothing, no response whatsoever. Its as if its switched frequency. I can get in the car with key, but cant start due to immobiliser. Any suggestions? Thanks Gary

  hi, does anyone know how to stop the alarm on my mk3 mondeo. problem started after car battery change. now every time i open the door the alarm sounds and the indicators flash. problem is, i only have one key which does not have buttons. i can still drive the car but cant stop the alarm. any help much appreciated.

  Hi all I have a 1.1 litre peugeot 206 and had it parked off road for 5 weeks while on holiday. i've gotten back and my starter motor and battery were working, but my clutch was very stiff. While I can change the gears, the clutch won't pull out all the way and I cannot pull off. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

  He can't afford to repair it as he's emigrating soon so wants to sell it for spares to get as much for it as he can.    The car is in his car park but now has a flat battery and the only key is either under the bonnet or in the boot. Any ideas how to get into it? Is it worth calling the AA? jim

  My new car came with a remote central locking key fob but it isnt working. I have tried a new battery but still doesnt work. I think it will need reprogramming. The car comes with 3 keys and a little metal tag with a number on, is assume this is for immobiliser? Any ideas how I could get this working?
