    Good news for Nissan and great news for the British car industry: the Nissan Qashqai has become one of the top ten best selling cars in the UK. The latest SMMT car sales figures were released today, placing the unique Qashqai crossover model in ninth place in the top sellers list with a total of 2,629 buyers taking delivery in May.

  • New Ferrari showroom opens in Belfast 19 Sep 2013 (News)
    Charles Hurst has opened a new Ferrari dealership in Belfast. The completely new showroom will stock all of the latest Ferrari sports cars, including the 458 Italia, F12 Berlinetta and the company's first ever four-wheel drive car, the FF. According to Charles Hurst, the new building will “display the cars in the best way possible, with regards to lighting, viewing angles, space and environment.” The new dealership has eight display spaces internally, with room for a further 25 cars in a secure area outside.
  • New Audi 'greener and cheaper' 29 Dec 2009 (News)
    Audi claimed that despite these changes, the range enjoys the same torque peak and power output as the other cars and can clear 62 mph 11.4 seconds. It also suggested the model was the most economical premium sector car with the lowest CO2 emissions at £18,000 OTR. The upgraded Audi A3 2.0 was recently praised as being another breakthrough in efficiency for the carmaker's line when it was reported the five-door Sportback and Cabriolet had cut their emissions by around 16 per cent.

    People considering buying a car will find the Toyota iQ is a safe choice, it has been claimed. According to the manufacturer, the new diminutive model disproves the pre-conception that bigger vehicles are safer. Commenting on the iQ, Toyota said it offered "an unprecedented level of active and passive safety protection" for a car of its size.

  • British Steam Car unveiling next month 27 May 2008 (News)
    A vehicle hoped to beat the British land speed record for a steam vehicle is to be unveiled to the press next month. The developers of the British Steam Car will be showing it off in Thornley next month before it heads to the US to attempt to beat the Fred Marriott's speed. Currently this stands at 128 mph and was set in a Stanley Steamer in 1906, but the team is hoping the British Steam Car will pass 150 mph.
  • Car supermarket sales for 2007 'topped £144m' 26 Mar 2008 (News)
    The amount of money saved by drivers in the UK picking up a second-hand vehicle from car supermarket Motorpoint was a combined £144 million last year. Over the course of 2007, some 30,000 customers saved around £5,000 each with Motorpoint compared to high-street dealerships, the company has claimed.

    The Mazda2 has been named the World Car of the Year for 2008. Industry experts from Europe, Asia and the Americas chose the vehicle ahead of competition from the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Ford Mondeo. The Japanese manufacturer was given the gong at the New York International Auto Show on March 20th 2008.

  • Volkswagen Golf picks up ACFO achievement 19 Nov 2007 (News)
    A fleet support industry body has awarded the Volkswagen Golf for the first time. The model has been awarded AFCO's Car of the Year award, with the group singling out its environmental features as well as its body work. It stated that the Golf had high build quality and a good model depth, while its eco-conscious fuel efficiency marked a shift in the sector towards CO2-friendly cars.
