The Historic Racing Drivers Club is to launch a race series for early Group 2 historic touring cars of the type that formed the nucleus of the European Touring Car Championship in 1963. After Blackham’s death, the car was unearthed near his home in Stockport, Greater Manchester. It was expected to fetch £150k to £200k. The car, which has torn leather seats and is covered in rust, has a 4.5-litre engine and was built after Bentley was taken over by Rolls-Royce.

Toyota has announced a £240 million investment programme for its car plant at Burnaston, Derbyshire. The financial package includes a £21.3 million contribution from the Government and will allow Toyota to build its next-generation of vehicles in the UK. Burnaston currently employs 2500 people and builds 180,000 cars a year.
Ex-Jenson Button Ford GT for sale 8 Feb 2017 (News)
A 2005 Ford GT first owned by British racing driver Jenson Button is heading to auction. The car, which is for sale at Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro Classic Car Sale, could fetch up to £300,000 later this month. This Ford GT is one of five vehicles, out of only 101 supplied to Europe, that were marked ‘VIP’.

Rare Lamborghini Countach 400S joins Race Retro sale 7 Jan 2016 (News)
‘GJK 854X’ was first registered in September 1982. Its first UK owner was Tim Dutton Wooley (of Dutton Cars fame) and sported the optional wing. The car was then sold in April 1987 to the next owner who had the wing removed. He was obviously an enthusiast and this car features heavily in Chris Bennett's book Lamborghini Countach published in 1993.

A 1962 Maserati 3500 GT sold for or £117,600 at auction this weekend - more than three times its highest estimate. The car, which went under the hammer on Saturday, 13 June, at Anglia Car Auctions also set a new record for the King’s Lynn-based firm. With 263 classic vehicles on offer, the matching numbers exhumed Maserati was just one of 190 lots sold.
