Nissan Primera III (1999 - 2002) - 01 1.8 engine management light stays on 12 Sep 2009 (Forum)
A colleague's been quoted £1500 to 'repair the crankshaft' for this. She and her husband know nothing much about cars and I fear a scam. Apart from being a bit overfull with [clean] oil the car seems fine. At 80,000m it's just run in, I think. I took it briefly up the road and it drives OK, apart from a slight wheel hub-type noise, unrelated to engine speed. -
The Speed Camera Thread - Volume 42 26 Apr 2006 (Forum)
She is getting a bit shirty with me because I don't believe the email, and says that she has looked up her own vehicle on the website. I refuse to do this because I suspect that this is some scam intended to get vehicle details off the unwary or to allow a virus to infect the computer. Any comments? -

Ken's great idea for public transport 20 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Anyway, I would have thought if you want people to take public transport then increasing fares at 10 times the rate of inflation is not the way to do it. I suppose that this is tied in with his tax scam (Congestion Charge, which I forgot to pay yet again so more fines!!!) not making as much money as he thought and also the fact that the company that runs it takes most of the money raised for themselves. -

Car insurance 14 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Basically, they are encouraging my wife and her mother to claim for similar personal injuries so they, the insurers, do not have to pay out to the other party. Is this a scam? My wife really does not want to take part, but is there a disadvantage in not doing so? The person on the phone said it had to be dealt with today, I wonder why they left it so long, it seems like it was deliberate to encourage me/my wife to make a quick decision. -

I paid money because the officer threatened me if I do not pay within 5 minutes then he will remove all my belongings from room and he entered to the room as well. -
Vauxhall Astra - Renewal of Tax Disc 2 Jun 2014 (Forum)
My first thougt was that there had been some sort of mixup at DVLA but now I realise that I have been scammed. What really annoys me, on contacting DVLA is that it is a regular occurance & as yet nothing has been done, although the system is changing in October. How Google, DVLA & the current Govenment cannot between them stop this, what looks like a very straightforward problem reoccuring is beyond my comprehension. -
any car - easidrive credit hire 31 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I have now received a court summons as Easidrive have unsuccessfully tried to claim the rental car money from the driver who hit the car that hit me. I now discover that I am liable. I really feel that I have been scammed even though as a credit hire company they seem to be working within the law. Easidrive contacted me and under flas pretenses said i had no need to contact my insurance as they would be taking care of everything.
