  can any one give me any ideas as to what is causing my volvo 740 2.3 auto matic to judder when i select Drive?? it only judders when the car is stationary and is worse when the engine is cold. when i increase the revs with the accelarator to around 900rpm (whilst still stationary) the judder stops but the car pulls on the brakes. can anyone give me any advice as to what is causing this.

  Hi - does anybody know how to get a full size spare wheel (16") into the spare wheel well in a new model Volvo V70? The brochure stated that a 16" wheel would fit but not a 17", but I can't seem to get it to fit - the battery seems to get in the way....I don't want to be driving around with only the skinny space-saver as a spare.

  I want to replace my current Volvo and posted details via the CarWow website.  Started getting offers but noticed that some, in particular Volvo and Merc, were all identical in price.  It seems that both are no longer Franchises but are an Agency of the car manufacturer without any independence or flexibility whatsoever.

  I have been quoted £2,385 for a replacement clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder by the Volvo dealership. I wondered if anyone else out there has had a similar incident with this Volvo model and what was the outcome ?    I have been driving for more than 50 years and I have never had a clutch problem before.

  I currently own a 2008 1.8 petrol Honda Civic on 110k (Manual), personally I’ve had nothing but issues with it since owning it for 2 years, had the mobile mechanic out today to tidy up a partly finished repair from before, before trading it in. The car I’m supposed to be getting is a 70k, 2015 Volvo XC60 SE LUX auto 2.4 D5 AWD. Full Volvo service history and comes with a 12 month Volvo Selekt unlimited mileage warranty. So the mechanic basically talked to me as if I’m crazy, why would I get rid of the Honda, and that Volvo are awful cars and I will have nothing but issues.

  Is it worth buying the Volvo with its extra tax costs? If so what's best to get- new with higher mileage or slightly older with lower mileage? I don't do a lot of mileage myself so it's mainly about style, reliability, safety and whether it is worth paying the extra tax for a second hand Volvo because of its original cost.

  I have owned a '56 diesel SE Sport Volvo for 8 months, bought and last serviced by an independent. Almost from first getting the car there were intermittent problems with it starting. These got progressively worse. As the warranty was about to run out I booked the car into the local Volvo garage.

  I have a Volvo S60 and during the cool spell a couple of weeks ago my handbrake locked on overnight. My drive is on a slight incline. When I went to move the car I had to gently rock the car forwards and backwards (using the engine) and the brakes became free with a load "smack" type noise.

  So the car was recovered, and I was given a hire car under warranty. I've not heard anything about my car. I've checked with Volvo confirming there are no outstanding recalls. Over the phone the Volvo mechanic suspected the Diesal pump which hes known to fail on other D5 engines. Does anyone know of any problems with the D5?
