  There will be lots of fun with an Aston Martin Vanquish, new 2003 shape Jaguar XKR and Ford Thunderbird from the new Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ which opens in the UK in November. Also MINI stunt driving displays by the brilliant Russ Swift who could park it on a sixpence if there was still such a thing. The MINI craze really began at the Birmingham Motorshow two years ago, and I predict another craze will start at this one, because we’ll see not just one but three new small sportscars: The MCC Smart Roadster, the Ford Street Ka and the Daihatsu Copen.

  Meanwhile, a 1948 Jaguar 3.5-litre Mk IV Drophead Coupé sold for £40,700 - more than twice its upper estimate. Other strong sellers included a 1964 Morris Mini Cooper 970 ‘S’ (£40,700), a 1975 Vauxhall Firenza 2.3 ‘Droopsnoot’ (£18,150), and a 1975 Jensen Interceptor SIII 7.2-litre (£56,100). Fords were as in demand as ever with a 1987 Ford Capri 280 ‘Brooklands’ Turbo Technics fetching £26,400.

  .  The news comes off the back of Amazon's recent announcement that Alexa - its voice assistant - would be integrated into new BMW and MINI models . It's long been known that technology is progressing faster than infrastructure can keep up. Meaning, simply, while we have the know-how to produce ever-improving electric automobiles – the support for them isn’t quite there yet.

  A 2001 Bentley Arnage 6.8-litre Red Label Saloon was also on offer with a warranted mileage of 46,000. It sold for £20,000. Other sale highlights included a 2000 Mini Classic Cooper 1.3, which needed some light restoration. While a Renaultsport Clio 3.0 V6 24v sold for £19,600. Stuart Pearson, BCA UK managing director, was pleased with the results. ‘There was interest across the board, from high value modern performance cars, to older, more travelled examples from the 1970s and 1980s With nearly 100 cars sold on the day and a turnover approaching £1 million, BCA future classics auction is being planned for later in the year.

  Land Rover show returns to Gaydon 17 May 2016 (News)
  This year sees the return of the popular Heritage Run, which takes place from Solihull to Gaydon and is for all pre 1980 vehicles.  On the Saturday, the focus will be on the utility vehicles in the arena and the Mini Me Parade. Certificates of Merit will be handed out by well known Land Rover experts and journalists.  Throughout the weekend visitors will also be able to view over 250 vehicles from the reserve collection which are on display in the Collections Centre. Many of these vehicles are one of a kind and most have never been seen by the public.

  Smart creates the Forrail: an actual train 29 Jun 2015 (News)
  Smart took the event seriously, tasking Derby based locomotive engineers Interfleet with engineering the Fortwo into a fully certified mini-train. It took the team six months, largely using computer modeling, to get the project on track. To make sure that the Forrail didn't come off the rails, the steering wheel was disconnected and the wheels were locked in position with aluminium supports welded between each axle.

  Also on show from the Hull collection at Gaydon are a Bentley R-type Continental, a Graber-bodied Alvis convertible, an Allard P2 ‘woodie’ estate car – one of only a handful ever built - plus a Mini Traveller, once owned by Lord Mountbatten. Stephen Laing, curator at the Heritage Motor Centre, welcomed the cars to the collection. ‘ These 16 cars not only complement our own outstanding collection of British models but give an insight into one of the most fascinating collections of classic cars in the world,’ he said.

  Group B to star at the Donington Historic 13 Apr 2014 (News)
  Together with Sunbeam Tigers, a full range of classic rally cars will be put through their paces, including Mini Coopers, Austin-Healeys and Ford Escorts. And, of course, with the Festival’s open paddock, spectators will be able to get a really good look at all the rally cars as well as the more than 400 historic racing cars, spanning seven decades, which are due to compete at the event.
