5th gear R/Rover 16 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Has Tiffany Dell finally lost the plot completly? He test drives the new Range Rover that is designed to be the best off roader in the world. The Land Rover magazines that I have read say that is pretty much what it is. So now at last we can see the beast in action, so what does he do? -
Car seating position 12 Feb 2002 (Forum)
It's also quite difficult when you can only tell the affect of your last seat movement when you're driving the car, and the blessed seat adjusts in all manner of directions. Any advice/websites gratefully received. Dan J -
Simple speed camera points dodge 1 Feb 2002 (Forum)
I am lucky in that I have a brother who has a licence but refuses to drive (no confidence) so I currently have 24 points to play with (I do not use this as an excuse to speed however). -

Silliest Driver of the Year 7 Jan 2002 (Forum)
"A Pietermaritzburg man - dubbed by the Road Traffic Inspectorate the "Silliest Driver of the Year" - appeared briefly in the Camperdown magistrate's court outside Pietermaritzburg on Monday. Kennedy Msimang was not asked to plead on two counts of speeding and two of drunk driving. Msimang was apparently trapped while driving a BMW cabriolet at 168 kilometres an hour in mid-December. A week later, he was again trapped on the same stretch of road, this time apparently speeding at 179 kilometres an hour. -
New tyres ... and Xmas cheer. 25 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Persisting down here tonight, and I was down to 40km/h as the torrential rain made vision virtually impossible. Arrived at a set of lights, only to have clown drive across my bows at high speed ... (my light was green). Fortunately I was able to stop in time. I had a new set of Pirellis put on the front on Friday (good old Xmas bonus) but wonder what would have happened had I been driving on the old set of Dunlops, which were 'legal' according to tread depth .... -
Insurance Laws 27 Sep 2001 (Forum)
She will need to be insured on the new one leaving the old one uninsured. It's taxed and MOTd. I have 'driving other cars' third party cover in my insurance. Does a car have to be insured (and have it's details on an insurance certificate) to be parked on the road? Is it still legal for me to drive it? I can't find a definite answer for this. -
Laguna II - v - Bora 13 Jun 2001 (Forum)
I am ready to order a new company car and have narrowed down my choce to (for various family, cost and tax reasons) either the Laguna II 1.9 dCi (Privilege) or the Bora S 1.9 Tdi (90bhp) The former has the room and the "features" (apart from giving a sunroof and full airconditioning) I am still at a loss why both are fitted - sunroofs lower the ceiling height and for anyone over 6'2" can brush your hair, which is annoying, though with the seat fully lowered this is not a problem. The latter has a comfortable drive but is basic So the question is does the comfort & fittings make up for any "alledged" road / driving shortfall? Jeremy -
